MOLDAVITE

Born From an Ancient Impact ☄️

Around 14.7 million years ago, a massive asteroid struck what is now southern Germany, creating the Ries impact crater.

The intense heat and pressure melted terrestrial material, ejecting it high into the atmosphere.

As the molten material travelled through the air, it cooled and solidified into natural glass.

This is how Moldavite was formed.

What Makes Moldavite Different?

Moldavite belongs to a group of natural impact glasses known as tektites.

Its distinctive green colour ranges from pale olive to deep forest green.

Each piece can feature unique surface textures, including grooves, pits and sculpted formations created through natural geological processes.

Why Is Moldavite So Sought After?

Genuine Moldavite is found predominantly in the Czech Republic, making it geographically limited.

Its unusual formation, distinctive appearance and connection to an ancient impact event have made it highly collectable.

Unfortunately, its popularity has also resulted in numerous glass imitations entering the market.

A Little Piece of Geological History

Moldavite isn't a crystal that grew underground.

It's natural glass formed through one of Earth's most dramatic geological events.

Approximately 14.7 million years in the making.
