📄 Changes to COVID-19 vaccinations from 1 October

From 1 October 2026, COVID-19 vaccines move onto the National Immunisation Program (NIP), the same program that covers flu and pneumococcal vaccines. This means free COVID-19 vaccination is no longer available to everyone.

Free under the NIP from 1 October:
✅ Adults 75 and over – every 6 months
✅ Adults 65–74 – every 12 months
✅ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people 50–74 – every 12 months
✅ Adults 18 and over with severe immunocompromise – every 12 months

If you're not in one of these groups, you can still choose to be vaccinated – it just won't be government funded. Have a chat with our pharmacists about whether it's right for you.

💉 Pneumococcal vaccinations are available again at TerryWhite Chemmart Aldinga Medical Centre!

Thanks for your patience while stock was limited. Pneumococcal disease can cause serious illness like pneumonia, meningitis and blood infections, especially in older adults and people with certain health conditions.
