I started It's a Lifestyle Health and Fitness to teach people how to set healthy goals that are sustainable forever. All too often we use diet and exercise as a reward or punishment. What if we learnt to enjoy looking after ourselves and removed the shame and guilt associated when we don't get it exactly right.

🌟 Client of the Month – June 🌟

This month's Client of the Month is Jo Dring.

Jo has been part of the ILHF family since 2020, and over the years she has shown exactly what consistency looks like.

Working shift work, supporting friends and family, and always being there for others means life can get busy and exhausting. Yet Jo continues to make time for herself and regularly shows up to our Total Body Toning sessions.

There have been plenty of mornings where she has arrived feeling tired after a long shift, but she still turns up, puts in the effort, and keeps moving forward.

That's what makes Jo so deserving of this recognition. Not because every week is easy, but because she stays committed even when life gets challenging.

Jo understands that health isn't built through perfection. It's built through the small actions repeated over and over again.

Thank you for being such a valued part of our community, Jo. We are incredibly proud of your dedication, resilience, and the example you set for others.

This month goes to Jane Williams

Not because it’s been easy…
but because she hasn’t given up.
Jane has been through a lot.

Weight loss hasn’t been straightforward.
There’s been pain, tough days, and plenty of reasons to stop…
But she didn’t.
She kept showing up.
She kept moving — even when it wasn’t perfect.
Because she knows this isn’t just about now…
it’s about longevity.

Being able to:
🐶 walk the dogs with ease
🐶 lift bags of dog food without thinking twice
🐶keep up when a foster pup (or a few extra humans šŸ˜…) come into the house
That’s the real win.
Not chasing perfection.

Just building a body and life that can handle real life.

Most people don’t hate exercise…
they just hate doing it alone.

I’ve seen people go from dreading workouts…
to actually enjoying it and showing up every week.

Not because they suddenly got motivated —
but because they had the right support (and someone doing it with them).

Coming up to 2 years in my Alkimos studio, and honestly… this is what I’m most proud of šŸ‘‡

People who started out:
• Feeling out of place in gyms
• Not knowing where to start
• Trying before and ending up sore for a week or quitting

Now:
• Showing up consistently
• Moving better day to day
• Feeling more confident in themselves

And a big part of that?

šŸ‘‰ Not doing it alone.

Like Paige — didn’t enjoy training at the start… now she shows up for herself every week.

Ricky & David — busy lives, aches and all… still getting it done together twice a week.

Michelle — travels, full plate… but built habits that actually stick.

This is what happens when you stop trying to go ā€œall inā€ā€¦
and start doing what actually works.

Because most people don’t need to go harder —

They just want to:
• move without aches
• lift their arms overhead without thinking about it
• put a seatbelt on easily
• keep up with their kids or grandkids

Without feeling smashed or sick from workouts.
