As an Early years and Junior Primary teacher for 15 years, I have seen the need for children to be supported with emotional regulation and understanding their bodies’ warnings and signals and what our bodies’ are telling us.
Bodywork with children is a beautiful way to support children and families understand their bodies. What feels safe, what doesn’t, how to say no, how to listen to our bodies, what calms them and when our bodies are giving us messages. I always work with an adult guardian present and have working with children clearances and first aid certification. I have spent many years working with children with neurodiversity, trauma and difficulties with social/emotional regulation. Mette's Institute of Bodywork & Personal Development was a place I thought I was going to learn massage and bodywork, but what it became for me like so many others was a place to grow, to connect, to heal and to build community and find other kindred spirits…ohana (family). I’m so proud to now be an accredited and qualified teacher of Heartworks Lomi Lomi and to be able to share some small part of this beautiful legacy of healing and bodywork grounded in love, presence and connection. Something we all need more of in this world is more love and more connection to both self and community. Hawaiian bodywork is more than just massage. It’s a philosophy for living grounded in connection with our earth, ourselves, and others. 💗🌺🌿

Forgive the auto caption spelling. This table was named to honour Jorgen, its maker, Mette, our beautiful teacher and passer on of knowledge, and Marcelle, the beautiful human who gifted me with this table. Morgana in Welsh means circle of the sea, which seems so fitting for a table that has travelled from one coast to another, and where I am to offer bodywork that comes from an Indigenous Island culture. In Irish Morgana is the Fairy Queen and healer. Fitting for my celtic background. Morgana has found her new home by the sea where she will support healing once more. Welcome Morgana. 🙏🏽🌺🌿💗✨
