The Woman Reframing Menopause from Decline to Initiation. I’m Shavita, author of Seven Wonders of Menopause. I help women understand menopause, perimenopause and post-menopause as a powerful return to the body, truth, wisdom and voice. Through womb wisdom, sacred feminine teachings and real-life tools, I share a new story of menopause, one rooted in remembrance, not fear.

There are moments when life does not ask us to push harder.

It asks us to listen.

To notice what feels heavy.
What feels false.
What we have outgrown.
What we keep carrying because we do not yet know who we are without it.

This New Moon feels like one of those moments.

A quiet invitation to stop forcing what no longer fits and become honest about what your body, your heart and your life have been trying to tell you.

Maybe the next chapter does not begin with doing more.

Maybe it begins with releasing what was never yours to carry in the first place.

And maybe somewhere underneath all the noise, there is still a part of you that remembers the way home.

I’m Shavita.

I’m remembering who I was before the world told me who to be.

06/09/2026

I’ve been sitting beside my mum in a nursing home, and something in me has changed.

🕊️ 🕊️ Womb Wisdom with Shavita △ 💚

I look around at people who have lived entire lives.

They’ve loved.
Raised families.
Lost people.
Worked.
Survived.
Learned things no book could ever teach.

And now so much of that wisdom sits quietly in rooms, often unseen, unheard, sometimes barely visited.

It has made me think deeply about the way we treat ageing.

And about menopause.

Because menopause is one of the great thresholds before this final threshold.

What if the way we learn to meet menopause matters far beyond our symptoms?

What if it teaches us how to meet ageing differently?

How to honour the woman we are becoming instead of desperately trying to remain the woman we were?

How to stop treating older women as though they are disappearing… and start recognising them as wisdom keepers?

We are speaking more loudly about menopause now.

And I believe that matters.

Because if we can change the story of menopause, perhaps we can begin changing the story of ageing too.

And maybe, eventually, even the story of death.

Our elders matter.

Their stories matter.

Their wisdom matters.

And our lives matter right until the very end.

I’m Shavita.
I’m remembering who I was before the world told me who to be.

Menopause has been spoken about in whispers for generations.

💚If this touched you follow along the journey 🕊️ Womb Wisdom with Shavita △ 🕊️

Now women are talking.

Loudly.

Openly.

And I keep wondering if this is about something much bigger than menopause.

Because menopause is one of the last great thresholds before elderhood and, eventually, the portal of death.

And sitting beside my mum in a nursing home has made me see that differently.

I look around and see entire lifetimes sitting quietly in chairs.

Women who have loved.
Lost.
Raised families.
Survived things we will never know about.
Held stories no one has thought to ask them to tell.

And I keep asking myself:

When did our elders stop being the wisdom keepers?

When did ageing become invisibility?

When did the people who once held everybody else become people we barely know how to hold?

It has made menopause feel even more important to me.

Because perhaps this passage is asking us to wake up while we still have time.

To ask:

How do I actually want to live now?

What am I still postponing?

What do I no longer want to carry?

Who am I becoming as I enter the elder years of my life?

Maybe changing the story of menopause can begin changing the story of ageing too.

And maybe, one day, even the way we meet death.

Not as something shameful or hidden away.

But as another threshold in this extraordinary human life.

I’m Shavita.

I’m remembering who I was before the world told me who to be.

And I believe there are things women were never meant to forget.

What if we stopped looking at menopause only through the lens of what is changing in the body

💚 🕊️ Womb Wisdom with Shavita △

and became curious about what is changing in the woman?

The heat.
The sleepless nights.
The heightened sensitivity.
The emotions rising.
The need for space.
The questioning of relationships, roles and everything we once tolerated.

When I began looking at the experiences associated with menopause alongside descriptions of Kundalini awakening, the similarities fascinated me.

I’m not saying they are the same.

I’m saying there is another conversation here.

Because perhaps the deepest similarity isn’t the heat.

Perhaps it’s the awakening of the woman herself.

The woman who begins to hear her own voice again.

Who can no longer swallow her truth to keep the peace.

Who starts questioning where she has abandoned herself.

Who realises she doesn’t want to go backwards.

She wants to know:

Who am I becoming now?

Menopause has taught me that sometimes the body changes before we have the language to understand what the change is asking of us.

I’m Shavita.
I’m remembering who I was before the world told me who to be.

And if something inside you is remembering too, comment GUIDE and I’ll send you my Womb Wisdom Guide — the guide I wish I had when I started my journey. 🌹

Sudden waves of heat? Check.

Heat rising through the body? Check.

Broken sleep? Check.

Heightened sensitivity? Check.

Emotions rising that can no longer be suppressed? Check.

Old identities falling apart? Check.

A sudden intolerance for the life you used to tolerate? Check.

A pull inward? Check.

A feeling that something inside you is trying to emerge? Check.

Menopause mirrors so much of what yogic traditions describe through the language of Kundalini awakening.

I’m not saying they are medically the same thing.

I’m saying the parallels are fascinating.

Because what if menopause isn’t only asking:

“What is happening to my body?”

What if another question is waiting underneath:

“What is awakening in me?”

Perhaps the fire isn’t only something to fear.

Perhaps, for some women, it can also become a symbol of transformation.

Burning through old identities.
Old conditioning.
Old ways of abandoning ourselves.

Until eventually, beneath everything we were taught to be…

we meet ourselves again.

They told us menopause was something to manage.

The heat.
The sleepless nights.
The emotional waves.
The feeling that something inside you is changing faster than you can understand.

But what if this stage of life is asking for more than symptom management?

What if it is asking you to listen?

To notice what no longer fits.
To release what you have outgrown.
To stop trying to become the woman you were…
and begin meeting the woman you are becoming.

For me, menopause became a remembering.

A return to my body.
A return to my truth.
A return to who I was before the world told me who to be.

That is why I created my Womb Wisdom Guide the guide I wish I had when I started my own journey.

They prepared us for our first bleed.

Pads. Tampons. What to expect.

But nobody really prepared us for the day our cycle would begin to change.

The missed periods.
The heavier ones.
The ones that arrive early.
The months where nothing feels predictable anymore.

And underneath all of that can be a much bigger question:

What is happening to me?

I wish someone had told me that menopause wasn’t simply something to fear or endure.

For me, it became an invitation to understand my body differently.

To listen.

To become curious instead of afraid.

To stop asking, “How do I get back to who I was?”

And start asking:

“Who am I becoming?”

That’s why I created the Menopause Reset Kit, the kit I wish I’d had when I started my own journey, with simple practices and guidance to help you move from fear towards trust.

Comment RESET and I’ll send it to you.

They told us about the hormones.

But nobody told us what might happen to the woman underneath them.

The restlessness.
The rage.
The grief.
The feeling that you can no longer tolerate what you tolerated for years.

The sudden need for truth.

The desire to be alone.

The feeling that something inside you is trying to rise.

For me, menopause became more than a transition.

It became an initiation.

A stripping away.

A remembering.

A return to the parts of myself I had buried beneath years of being everything to everyone else.

And I began to wonder…

What if this isn’t only about what is leaving us?

What if it is also about what is trying to awaken within us?

What if the fire, the restlessness, the intuition, the deep need for change are part of a woman becoming more fully herself?

That is why I created the Menopause Reset Kit — the kit I wish I had when I started my journey.

A collection of the practices, questions and tools that helped me move from fear towards trust and listen more deeply to what my body was asking of me.

Comment RESET and I’ll send you the link.

For so long, I thought the answer was to get back to the woman I was before menopause.

My old body.
My old energy.
My old self.

Until I began to wonder…

What if I’m not supposed to go back?

What if this chapter is asking me to listen differently?

For me, the shift began when I stopped fearing every change in my body and started becoming curious about what it was asking of me.

Not overnight.
Not perfectly.

But slowly, I began moving from fear towards trust.

And that is why I created the Menopause Reset Kit — the tools, practices and questions I wish I’d had when I first began this journey.

If you’re in the thick of it and don’t quite recognise yourself right now, comment RESET and I’ll send you the details. 🌹

There are seasons when change arrives loudly.

If this spoke to you, follow along
🕊️ Womb Wisdom with Shavita △

And others when nothing on the outside has changed, but somewhere inside you, you know you cannot keep living in quite the same way.

Maybe that is what this full moon and eclipse has illuminated.

The roles.
The resentment.
The exhaustion.
The things we have swallowed.
The parts of ourselves we abandoned because there was always somebody else to look after.

I think many women reach this place during midlife.

We think we are losing ourselves.

Perhaps we are finally beginning to hear ourselves.

What are you no longer willing to carry into the next chapter?
