💚 What an incredible three days for our Karen and Madi! 🩵
They’ve just completed the Larapinta Trail trek with TerryWhite Chemmart supporting OvarianCancerOz alongside an amazing group of humans.
There were breathtaking views, sore legs, new friendships and SO many laughs 😂 — but it was the final morning that really put everything into perspective.
Starting at 2am in complete darkness and bitterly cold temperatures, Karen and Madi climbed Mt Sonder to reach the summit for sunrise.
They couldn’t see how steep it was, how far they had to go or the size of the challenge ahead. Their head torches showed only the next few steps.
So that’s what they focused on. One foot in front of the other. 1% at a time.
When daylight came and they saw the mountain they’d just climbed, the thought was unanimous — if they’d seen what was ahead at 2am, they may never have started!
But their mountain was one they chose to climb. Women facing ovarian cancer don’t choose theirs. They too can find themselves navigating a path in the dark, unsure of what lies ahead.
We’re incredibly proud of Karen and Madi, and proud to be part of a TerryWhite Chemmart network supporting Ovarian Cancer Australia — helping to provide some of the light and support women need on the path ahead.
The sore legs will recover, but the friendships, laughter, perspective and memories will last a very long time. 💚🩵
