Happy Pride Month 🌈

This June, we acknowledge and celebrate LGBTQIA+ people, families and communities.

At Involve Health Hub, we believe everyone deserves to feel respected, safe and supported when accessing care.

Pride Month is a reminder that belonging matters, be it in families, schools, workplaces, healthcare and community.

Inclusion matters beyond June.

The first focus area in The Next Step: Adulting Skills Program is designed to support young people to better understand overwhelm, energy, sensory needs and sustainable routines.

For many young people, everyday life can feel exhausting, especially when sensory overwhelm, burnout, masking or constant demands are part of daily life.

This focus area explores:

sensory processing and overwhelm
recognising burnout patterns
energy budgeting and spoon theory
regulation and recovery strategies
balancing rest and responsibilities
building sustainable routines

The aim is not to add more pressure. It is to help young people better understand themselves and develop strategies that feel realistic, supportive and compassionate.

The Next Step is a small-group Occupational Therapy program for young people aged 17 to 23, delivered in 6-week focus blocks with flexible entry points across the year.

Self-enquiries, parent enquiries and professional referrals are welcome.

Email [email protected] or call (07) 3482 3466 to enquire about the next available focus area.

How does The Next Step work?

The Next Step: Adulting Skills Program is delivered in 6-week focus blocks, with flexible entry points across the year.

Each block focuses on a different area of independence, such as routines, energy, executive functioning, home skills, food skills, money, work or study.

Young people can join one focus area or continue through multiple blocks over time, depending on their goals and needs.

Before starting, each participant completes a 1:1 intake so we can understand their goals, support needs and best entry point.

Next focus area: Self & Energy
Starts Thursday 9 July
Thursdays, 1:30pm to 3:30pm
Involve Health Hub, Aspley

Self-enquiries, parent enquiries and professional referrals welcome.

To enquire, contact [email protected] or call (07) 3482 3466.

The transition into adulthood can feel exciting, uncertain, confusing, and overwhelming, sometimes all at once.

As expectations increase, many young people are trying to navigate routines, study or work demands, relationships, emotional wellbeing, planning ahead, independence, and figuring out who they are and how they want life to look.

At Involve Health Hub, we’ve launched our new Journal with an article exploring the realities of early adulthood and introducing The Next Step, a small-group occupational therapy program designed to support teenagers and young adults with executive functioning, emotional wellbeing, independence skills, routines, communication, and navigating everyday life with greater confidence and self-understanding.

The program takes a supportive and practical approach, recognising that adulthood involves far more invisible skills than people often realise.
