Winter is nearly here — it’s time to get ready.

You can help protect yourself and your community by getting vaccinated against winter nasties like the flu.

Check if you’re eligible for free vaccines:
🔹COVID-19 vaccine free for adults in Australia regardless of Medicare or visa status.
🔹Flu vaccine is free under the National Immunisation Program (NIP) for people 65 and over and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people 6 months and over.
🔹Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) vaccine is now free under the NIP for people 75 and over and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people 60 and over.

If you are not eligible for a free vaccine through the NIP, some states and territories may offer additional vaccines. Check with your health professional or contact your state or territory health department.

Administered as a quick and painless nasal spray, FluMist is a great alternative for children who may be anxious about needles.

The vaccine is safe and effective, providing equivalent protection against influenza A and B to traditional injectable influenza vaccines.

And we're expecting it'll lift immunisation rates among our youngest Western Australians - helping to stop the spread of flu, keep our loved ones healthy, and ease the pressure on our health system.

When Autumn sets in, it’s time to get vaccinated against winter viruses, such as flu, COVID-19 and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) – especially if you’re an older Australian.

These viruses can lead to hospitalisation and death, but with safe and effective vaccines readily available, it’s easy to protect yourself.

Check if you’re eligible for free vaccines:

We are running a Flu Vaccine clinic tomorrow Tuesday 5th May from 9am - 12 noon.
Phone 9498 7575 to book a slot or alternatively, book online with our Nurse via our website.
Walk in appointments available for existing patients only.

The new Medicare Mental Health Check In website has resources to help you get support early, including:
✅ evidence-based resources
✅ help understanding what you’re experiencing
✅ practical self-care tips.

The service is rolling out in stages and offers free, online support with no referral or diagnosis needed.

By May 2026, you can access more supports – whether you prefer to move at your own pace, or connect with a trained practitioner along the way via phone or video.

Alternatively, please attend the Medicare Walk in Clinic in Beeliar.
