If Someone's On A Fat Free Diet & A Cholesterol Lowering Medication...That's A Recipe For Brain Destruction.

8 Reasons Why You Should NEVER Take A Cholesterol Lowering Statin:

1: Statins cause Brain Damage. Neuroinflammation & Mitochondrial dysfunction resulting in rapid cognitive decline & early onset Alzheimer's.

2: Statins stop Dolichol, a crucial molecule in protein glycosylation in the brain, deficiency leads to Alzheimer's, Lewy Body Dementia, Parkinson's & other brain disorders.

3: Statins cause CoQ10 deficiency, resulting in muscle pain & Mitochondrial Dysfunction, leading to heart attack & stroke.

4: Statins induce Type 2 Diabetes at the rate of 71%. By lowering cholesterol in the blood, Statins interfere with the body's ability to use insulin, thereby causing insulin resistance & high blood sugar levels.

5: Statins inhibit Heme A, a vital component of the electron transport chain for energy. Crucial for oxygen storage & respiratory function.

6: Statins cause Muscle Damage. Breakdown of muscle tissue & profuse tearing resulting in Rhabdomyolysis.

7: Statins cause Liver Damage. Drug Induced Liver Injury (DILI) with jaundice, acute & chronic liver failure & abdominal pain.

8: Statins increase the risk of brain bleeds. Hemorrhagic Stroke risk increases 3X when cholesterol lowering statins cause LDL to go below 70 mg/dL.

Chronic Conditions Caused By Cholesterol Lowering Statins:
Muscle Pain
Muscle Tearing
Weakness
Neuropathy
Heart Failure
Dizziness/Vertigo
Cognitive Impairment
Dementia
Alzheimer's Disease
Cancer
Pancreatitis
Liver Damage
Diabetes
Depression
Parkinson's Disease
ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease)
Testosterone Deficiency
Erectile Dysfunction
Estrogen Deficiency
Vaginal Atrophy
Brain Damage
Multiple Sclerosis

There Is No Cardiovascular Benefit From Taking A Cholesterol Lowering Statin Because Cholesterol Does Not Cause Atherosclerosis Plaque, Arterial Stiffness, Heart Attack Or Stroke.

Inflammation & Damage To The Arterial Wall Is The Cause Of Cardiovascular Disease, Not Cholesterol. Cholesterol Is There To Heal The Damage Done By Other Lifestyle Factors Such As High Carb/High Sugar/High Seed Oil Diet, Ultra Processed Foods, Smoking, Stress, Etc.

The Research Is Clear. The Higher Your LDL, The Longer You Live.

A low carbohydrate diet prioritizing nutrient dense animal foods, eliminating harmful seed oils, sugar & processed foods provides the best healthy cholesterol profile.

This approach keeps Triglycerides low & HDL high, which is one of the best Biomarkers for Cardiac health. TG/HDL ratio optimally should be 1.5 or less.

THE LIVER essentially the most overworked organ with in the body....

The Liver is estimated to have over 500 functions. While detoxification is the key function of the liver, the secretion of bile, needed for digestion of fats, and to promote intestinal peristalsis needed to prevent constipation is of paramount importance.

The liver also plays a key role in immunity. Other functions include storage of key vitamins B12, A and D. Manufacturing of cholesterol; protein, fat and carbohydrate metabolism; regulation of blood sugar levels, and the breaking down of hormones once they have performed their duties. The liver along with the kidneys and bowel play a key role in the detoxification of alcohol, drugs and other harmful substances. Thus in order for the liver to function properly, you must also have correct kidney and bowel function.

Symptoms of reduced liver function
If your liver isn’t functioning properly, toxins that would normally be filtered by the liver accumulate in the body. When the body is burdened with more chemicals than it can efficiently detoxify, chronic health problems can arise. Problems like allergies, skin problems, digestive problems, headaches, fatigue, joint pain, age spots, infections and constipation. Other symptoms include, yellowing whites of the eyes, yellowing of the skin, fever, nausea, difficulties digesting fatty foods and increased sensitivity to cigarette smoke, strong perfume, petrol and other chemicals.

Factors affecting liver function
Your digestive health is closely linked to the health of your liver. If your digestive system is generally toxic, due to poor nutrient status, high fat diet, constipation, poor gut flora, and so on, these toxins and any others you ingest, will similarly be delivered directly to your liver which adds to your liver’s workload.

What can I do?

There are a few things that you can do to look after your liver. They include

1. Add some globe artichokes to your anti-pasto platter (stimulates the liver and gallbladder), add some bitter greens to your salads (stimulates digestion), throw in some parsley and coriander to your next meal (these herbs help bind to heavy metals and are rich in chlorophyll) or juice some lemon upon rising (cleansing and also stimulates your digestion).

2. Drinking alcohol depletes your B vitamins as they are water-soluble and are easily flushed; they also help to process the alcohol. If you are planning on having a few drinks this weekend take a B vitamin (with food to avoid ‘flushing’) before you head out on the town.

3. Consider taking St Marys Thistle (also known as Milk Thistle) under the guidance of a Naturopath. This herb has been extensively researched for its protective role on the liver. Legalon (Milk Thistle in a capsule) helps your body to support your body’s natural detoxification processes and may help relieve fatigue due to a stressed liver. It also assists in supporting the liver during recovery from toxic overload.

4. Last but definitely not least, stay hydrated. Alcohol is a diuretic (increases urine output) leaving you dehydrated which causes headaches and nausea (ie. a nasty hangover), therefore adequate hydration is essential for recovery. Try and aim to have a glass of water with every alcoholic beverage you have.

Lemon balm is one of the first herbs I started growing in my medicinal garden. The smell of it is so invigorating to me! I could sniff it all day. To me, it's like sunshine in plant form. 🌞🌱

Lemon balm seems to calm the mind, increase mental alertness and promote a positive attitude. I personally like to pair it with holy basil for stress and anxiety. It could possibly help with PMS, ADHD, mild depression and insomnia.

Lemon balm has been studied in Alzheimer’s research, mostly for its calming effects on agitation and stress-related symptoms. While it is not a treatment or cure for cognitive decline, it could possibly help slow progression, and gently support mood and nervous system balance. Being an Alzheimer's nurse, I love this.

Lemon balm has antiviral effects and is often used as a remedy to help with herpes, cold sores and shingles. It can also help sooth and ease the nerve pain that accompanies these viruses. One of my books suggests its use for Esptein-Barr. It is antibacterial and antifungal. It is particularly effective against candida.

Lemon balm aids in digestion. It can help relieve, gas, cramping, bloating, heartburn, constipation and colic.

Lemon can help support a healthy heart. It can help control cholesterol, palpitations, tachycardia, arrhythmias, and it contains antioxidants that may help protect blood vessels from oxidative stress.

Some laboratory research suggests that lemon balm may interfere with TSH from binding to thyroid cells. So regular use could possibly be beneficial for those with a HYPERactive thyroid. Those with HYPOactive thyroid and those taking thyroid medication should not regularly use lemon balm.

Laboratory research shows lemon balm has anti-proliferative effects on liver, breast, colorectal, and brain cancer cell lines. (These are not human studies)

This is such a versatile plant! Lemon balm leaves can be used to make tea, tinctures, essential oil, and salves. As always, do your own research and talk to your health professional if you are taking medications.

Losing weight is hard. Self-awareness makes emotional regulation easier.

Most conversations about weight focus on food and exercise. And those things matter. But they rarely account for what is happening underneath.

Emotional eating is real. Stress eating is real. The way anxiety, boredom, loneliness, or overwhelm can quietly drive us toward food as comfort is something many people experience but few talk about openly.

This is not a willpower problem. It is an awareness problem.

When we develop a clearer understanding of our emotional triggers, what we are actually feeling before we reach for food, what need is going unmet, something begins to shift. Not through force or restriction, but through understanding.

Self-awareness doesn't make the journey easy. But it makes it more sustainable. And far kinder.

YARROW

What can you use the herb Yarrow for?

Wound Healing - Yarrow is a natural hemostatic, meaning it can help to stop bleeding. Useful for wounds of all types because it stops bleeding and also has antibacterial and astringent properties that prevent infection. Applying a poulitce of the leaves to a wound can stop bleeding quickly and begin the healing process.
It has been used to treat nosebleeds, heavy menstrual bleeding, and other types of bleeding.

Cardiovascular health - Yarrow has been traditionally used for cardiovascular health, and modern research has provided some evidence to support this use. Yarrow contains flavonoids, which have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. These help improve blood flow by dilating blood vessels and toning the vessels that are weak or flaccid. This may result in lower blood pressure and lowers the risk of cardiovascular disease. The toning effect and the ability to move stagnant blood also help to reduce varicose veins and hemorrhoids.

Additionally, it may help reduce cholesterol levels, another risk factor for cardiovascular disease. For example, one study found that a yarrow extract reduced total cholesterol and LDL (bad) cholesterol levels in rats with high cholesterol levels.

Yarrow can be used alone or with other herbs for cardiovascular health. Hawthorn, another popular cardiovascular herb, is often used with yarrow.

Menstrual health - Yarrow can also be useful for regulating the menstrual cycle. It can help to reduce heavy bleeding and promote the healing of any tissues that may have been damaged. Its anti-inflammatory and spasmolytic properties help relax smooth muscles and bring relief to cramping.

Urinary disorders - cystitis and urethritis can be relieved with the diuretic and antimicrobial action of yarrow. It increases urine production to flush out the urinary system, reduce inflammation and fight off infections. As well as taking yarrow internally, a sitz bath can help soothe and reduce inflammation in the urinary area.

Arthritis and Gout - used internally as a tea or tincture or externally as a poultice or compress yarrows' anti-inflammatory properties help to reduce joint inflammation and alleviate pain associated with arthritis and gout.

Digestion - Yarrow is a bitter herb that can help to stimulate digestion and improve the absorption of nutrients.

Fever - Yarrow is a versatile herb that has both stimulant and relaxant diaphoretic properties. The volatile essential oils found in yarrow help to stimulate blood flow and circulation, while the flavonoids and other compounds work to relax tension in the blood vessels. This combined action of circulatory stimulant and diaphoretic promotes sweating and aids in heat, leaving the body helping to break a fever.

Cold and Flu - a mucous membrane tonic due to its astringent action and the anti-catarrhal properties from the volatile oils help with congestion and excess mucous in the body, bringing relief to the symptoms of colds, flu, asthma and bronchitis

Immune support - while not a specific immune herb, it combines nicely with other herbs such as Elderflower and peppermint or Echinacea.

Fluoride: The Hidden Neurotoxin & How to Protect the Body Naturally

Fluoride has long been promoted as a dental aid, yet modern scientific understanding reveals a far broader biological impact. Rather than remaining localised to the teeth, fluoride acts as a systemic toxin, accumulating in tissues and interfering with key physiological processes.

This is not simply about oral health—it is about neurological function, hormones, bones, and long-term vitality.

The 10 Core Harms of Fluoride on Human Health

1. Neurotoxicity & Cognitive Decline

Fluoride crosses the blood-brain barrier and accumulates in brain tissue.
It has been associated with reduced IQ in children, impaired memory, and decreased learning capacity.
Mechanistically, it promotes oxidative stress and neuroinflammation, damaging neurons over time.

2. Skeletal Fluorosis

Fluoride binds with calcium and accumulates in bones.
This leads to joint stiffness, chronic pain, and abnormal calcification.
In advanced cases, it causes severe skeletal deformities and reduced mobility.

3. Dental Fluorosis

A visible marker of systemic fluoride overload.
It disrupts enamel formation, causing white streaks, brown staining, and pitting.
Over time, this weakens tooth structure rather than strengthening it.

4. Thyroid Suppression

Fluoride competes directly with iodine, a critical element for thyroid function.
This interference reduces the production of T3 and T4 hormones, slowing metabolism.
Symptoms may include fatigue, weight gain, and hormonal imbalance.

5. Endocrine Disruption

Fluoride interferes with the hormonal system beyond the thyroid.
It can alter reproductive hormones, disrupt estrogen and testosterone balance, and impair hormonal signalling pathways throughout the body.

6. Pineal Gland Calcification

The pineal gland accumulates significant levels of fluoride over time.
This contributes to calcification and reduced melatonin production.
As a result, sleep cycles, circadian rhythm, and recovery processes become disrupted.

7. Cardiovascular Stress

Fluoride contributes to oxidative stress within blood vessels.
It may promote arterial calcification and reduce vascular elasticity.
This can increase the risk of high blood pressure and cardiovascular strain.

8. Cellular & DNA Damage

Fluoride increases the production of free radicals.
This leads to oxidative damage to DNA and cellular structures.
Over time, this accelerates aging and impairs cellular repair mechanisms.

9. Enzyme Inhibition

Fluoride disrupts enzyme activity, particularly those dependent on magnesium.
This reduces ATP production, impairing energy metabolism.
It also interferes with detoxification pathways and digestive processes.

10. Developmental Toxicity (Children & Unborn Babies)

Fluoride exposure during pregnancy and early childhood poses heightened risks.
It can interfere with brain development in utero and is linked to behavioural and cognitive issues.
Children are more vulnerable due to their lower body mass and developing systems.

The Key Insight

Fluoride is bioaccumulative, meaning it builds up over time in bones, brain tissue, and glands. In a modern environment already burdened with toxins, even low-level exposure can become biologically significant.

Three Natural Agents to Help Counter Fluoride

1. Iodine (Halogen Displacement & Thyroid Restoration)

Iodine directly competes with fluoride in the body.
It helps displace fluoride from tissues while restoring proper thyroid hormone production.
It also supports detoxification of other halogens such as bromide.

Best forms: Lugol’s iodine, nascent iodine, or kelp-based sources

2. Tamarind (Fluoride Excretion Support)

Tamarind has been shown to increase the urinary excretion of fluoride.
It helps reduce accumulation in bones and tissues while providing antioxidant protection.

Best forms: Fresh tamarind pulp, teas, or extracts

3. Boron (Bone Detox & Mineral Regulation)

Boron plays a key role in mobilising fluoride out of bone tissue.
It supports calcium and magnesium balance and helps reduce joint stiffness and calcification.

Best forms: Boron glycinate or controlled microdosing (advanced use)

Closing Message

Fluoride is not simply a dental additive—it is a systemic disruptor affecting multiple organs and biological systems.

The solution is not fear, but awareness and action:
• Reduce exposure
• Restore essential minerals
• Support the body’s natural detoxification pathways

With the right strategy, the body can begin to eliminate accumulated fluoride and restore optimal function.

Key Health Therapies

Coconut Oil & Baking Soda: A Natural Alternative to Conventional Toothpaste

In a world where many commercial toothpastes contain fluoride, artificial sweeteners, and chemical additives, a return to simple, natural oral care is not only refreshing—it is biologically supportive.

Two of the most effective and time-tested ingredients are coconut oil and baking soda. Together, they form a powerful, safe, and mineral-supportive alternative that cleans, protects, and restores oral health without toxic burden.

Why Avoid Conventional Toothpaste?

Most commercial toothpastes contain substances that may negatively impact systemic health:
• Fluoride (bioaccumulative neurotoxin)
• Sodium lauryl sulfate (irritates gums and oral tissue)
• Artificial sweeteners and preservatives
• Glycerin (may coat teeth and reduce remineralisation potential)

Switching to natural alternatives removes this burden while supporting the body’s innate healing ability.

The Power of Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is far more than a base—it is an active antimicrobial agent.

Key Benefits:
• Rich in lauric acid, which combats harmful oral bacteria
• Helps reduce plaque and gingivitis
• Supports a balanced oral microbiome
• Soothes inflamed or bleeding gums
• Aids in gentle detoxification through oil pulling

Coconut oil works by disrupting the lipid membranes of harmful bacteria, helping to reduce their presence without harming beneficial strains.

The Role of Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate)

Baking soda is a natural alkalising and cleansing agent.

Key Benefits:
• Neutralises acids that damage enamel
• Gently removes plaque and surface stains
• Helps whiten teeth naturally
• Creates an environment where harmful bacteria struggle to thrive

Unlike harsh abrasives, baking soda is mild yet effective when used correctly.

Why This Combination Works So Well

When combined, coconut oil and baking soda create a synergistic oral care system:
• Coconut oil targets bacteria and inflammation
• Baking soda cleans, polishes, and balances pH
• Together, they support remineralisation and gum health

This approach works with the body—not against it.

Simple Natural Toothpaste Recipe

Ingredients:
• 2 tablespoons organic extra virgin coconut oil
• 1 tablespoon baking soda

Optional additions (for enhanced benefits):
• A few drops of peppermint or clove oil (antimicrobial and freshening)
• A pinch of sea salt (trace minerals for gum support)

Instructions:
Mix into a smooth paste and store in a small glass jar. Use a pea-sized amount per brushing.

How to Use for Best Results
• Brush twice daily using gentle circular motions
• Spit out excess—avoid swallowing large amounts
• Optional: oil pull with coconut oil for 5–10 minutes before brushing
• Use a soft-bristled brush to protect enamel

What to Expect

With consistent use, many people report:
• Cleaner, smoother teeth
• Reduced gum bleeding and sensitivity
• Fresher breath
• Gradual natural whitening

Closing Message

True oral health is not created through harsh chemicals—it is built through balance, mineral support, and microbiome harmony.

Coconut oil and baking soda offer a simple, effective, and natural solution that aligns with the body’s biology, reduces toxic exposure, and supports long-term dental and systemic health.

Key findings
In England in 2024/25:
There were 35 million courses of treatment (COTs) delivered, 4% more than 2023/24. In 2024/25, COTs for adult patients increased by 2% to 23 million, and by 7% for child patients to 12 million. More than 60% of the total COTs delivered in 2024/25 were for band 1 treatments, and 10% were for urgent treatments.
There were 73 million units of dental activity (UDAs) delivered, a less than 1% increase since 2023/24. Band 1 was also the largest treatment band by UDAs, with 29% of the total UDAs for 2024/25. Band 1 includes check ups and simple treatment, for example examinations, x-rays, and advice.
