We have previously teased some of Greig story. Today, we’re proud to share the full documentary, curated with Greig himself.

A husband, dad, former police officer and a man with plenty of stories to tell. Through Greig’s own words and those of some of the people closest to him, this film shares his life, the memories they’ve made and their experience of Huntington’s disease.

Thank you to Greig, Bianca and his family for letting us be part of telling his story. It’s been a privilege to put this together with Greig, and we hope you’ll take some time to watch and get to know Greig as we have.

🚨BALLARAT WE'RE BACK🚨

Catch the Calacare team at the The Disability Events Community - The DEC Ballarat Expo next Wednesday. We’re pumped to be out in the community again, having real conversations, building connections and hearing directly from the people we support.

Events like this are a great chance for us to showcase who we are, share the outcomes we’ve achieved locally and continue strengthening partnerships across the region.

In the iconic township of Clunes, known for its appearance in Mad Max, Chris and support worker Toby enjoyed a sunny Sunday morning wandering among classic cars with coffees in hand at the Clunes Cars and Coffee meet. Their shared passion for old‑school vehicles made it the perfect match.

Another great news story for one of our participants!!

Only four games played and Tim finished 15th in the best and fairest! 👏

Tim and his support worker headed to the Reclink Presentation Lunch at the lake to celebrate the season. He was absolutely rapt with the result and is already looking forward to next year.

Well done to Tim and his team (some faces have been covered to respect others’ privacy!)

Two bedrooms available in our Delacombe SIL home 🏠

This beautiful new build is spacious and clean, with a lovely outdoor area. Both available bedrooms have their own ensuite. Two women are currently residing in the home, looking for a housemate who also has a great sense of humour!

Ballarat Greyhounds Great Chase Community Day 🐶

Our amazing participants and super hero support workers headed out to the Greyhound Racing Victoria - GRV All‑Abilities Community Day and what an absolute blast it was!

The day was full of laughs, face painting, patting the friendliest greyhounds and soaking up plenty of community connection. Everyone enjoyed a meal and a drink on the house while cheering on our allocated greyhound for the day… the excitement was real!

Smiles were big, spirits were high and it was the perfect chance to come together for a fun day out at the races.

We absolutely love days like this. Community, inclusion, big smiles and the kind of connection that fills everyone’s cup. ❤️

Today we took time out of our busy day to pause, connect and genuinely check‑in with each other. Asking “R U OK?” is a small question that can make a big difference and creating space for honest conversations is something we value deeply at Calacare.

Supporting each other, listening without judgement and reminding our team that they’re never alone is what makes our workplace stronger.

We recently gave you a sneak peak into Greig’s story… now we thought it was time you got to know him a little better.

There’s a lot more to Greig than Huntington’s. He’s a former police officer, husband, dad, grandfather, footy lover, b**r drinker and someone with plenty of stories to tell.

We’ve loved getting to know more about the life he’s lived and the people and memories that mean the most to him.

Today Josh got the chance to visit the Royal South Street Society (RSSS) at their All Abilities performing arts event at the amazing Ballarat Specialist School and wow, what an atmosphere!

RSSS took out the win in the Calacare Accessibility & Inclusion Award at the 2026 Federation University Australia Commerce Ballarat Business Excellence Awards and after seeing today’s event… it’s easy to see why!

The energy in the room was unreal, with people of all abilities dancing, singing, reading and giving it their absolute best. The smiles were genuinely ear‑to‑ear!

Huge congratulations to RSSS and everyone involved. You’re creating spaces where everyone feels welcome, included and celebrated, a perfect example of what this award is all about.

So proud to see our community showing what true inclusion looks like. 💙👏🫶
