Looking for a reason to take on the Dry July challenge?

Every dollar you raise will support our Cancer Centre and Wellness Centre - a welcoming space offering free, non-clinical services to people with cancer and their carers.

From oncology massage and yoga to support groups and the Look Good Feel Better program, these services help people navigate one of the toughest times in their lives. Best of all, they're provided at no cost to patients and families.

The Wellness Centre receives no government funding and delivers more than 3,400 free appointments every year thanks to the generosity of our community.

Support people like Chris, who says the Wellness Centre has become an essential part of his cancer journey.

"It’s not stressful. It’s just good. I like the company – there’s always people around."

This July, go alcohol-free and help ensure these vital services remain available for local people facing cancer. Sign up or donate today: https://www.dryjuly.com/BRICC

A little Bulldogs magic filled our Children’s Ward today! 💙🤍❤️

We were delighted to welcome Western Bulldogs AFLW players Jasmyn Smith and Britney Gutknecht to the Children’s Ward as part of the club’s annual Ballarat Community Camp.

The players spent time chatting with young patients, joining in activities and bringing plenty of joy to children and families during their hospital stay.

Visits like these are about so much more than footy. They provide a welcomed distraction for children facing health challenges and inspire young people especially young girls, to back themselves and believe in what they can achieve.

A huge thank you to Jasmyn, Britney and the Western Bulldogs team for taking the time to connect with our patients and staff.
We can't wait to cheer on the Bulldogs when they return to Ballarat later this AFLW season!

“Like many of you, I know how important it is to have reliable public healthcare close to home.” – Matthew Hadfield, Chief Medical Officer, Grampians Health

Matthew Hadfield - Chief Medical Officer at Grampians Health and a vascular surgeon operating every week at Ballarat Base Hospital, sees firsthand the difference access to quality healthcare makes for regional families. He also knows that while healthcare continues to advance rapidly, providing the latest equipment and technology comes at a significant cost.

This End of Financial Year, your tax-deductible donation will help fund specialised medical equipment and projects of highest need across Grampians Health Ballarat - helping our teams continue delivering innovative care close to home.

Help ensure local patients can access the best possible healthcare, right here in our region. 💙 Donate before 30 June to make your gift tax-deductible this financial year. https://ghb-tax-appeal-2026.raiselysite.com/

Meet Chris. 💙

For the past six years, Chris has faced non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma with incredible resilience, navigating chemotherapy, clinical trials and the uncertainty that comes with cancer. Through it all, he’s continued doing what he loves most - riding horses and finding connection through the Cancer Wellness Centre.

“The sense of company and support is just good,” Chris says.

This Dry July, you can help support people like Chris and the vital services that help them live well through cancer. By giving up alcohol for a month, you’ll be helping provide programs like massage, Tai Chi, acupuncture and emotional support for local people facing cancer.

Chris says the support he’s received through the Wellness Centre has “cost absolutely nothing” - but it’s only possible thanks to the generosity of our community.

Thanks to the incredible support of our community, Grampians Health at Home now has a new portable bladder scanner helping deliver care where patients are most comfortable - at home. 🏠

A bladder scanner is a portable, painless ultrasound device used to measure how much urine is inside the bladder, helping clinicians provide timely and effective care without the need for invasive procedures. This important equipment will support better management of urinary health, improve patient comfort, reduce hospital visits and allow quicker access to treatment for patients across our region.

“This scanner has been a wonderful asset within the GH at Home team as it has allowed us to attend bladder scans on patients in the community and enabled this testing in the comfort of the patient's own home. We are extremely grateful for donations.” – Jackie Cherry, Team Leader GH at Home

This EOFY, give local and help make life-saving care possible, close to home. 💙

The Grampians Health Ballarat 2026 EOFY Appeal is now live - raising funds for some of the highest-need projects across our health service.

As a regional public health service caring for patients from across Western Victoria, community support helps us fund vital medical equipment and patient care initiatives that are not covered by government funding.

Donations from our community already make a real difference. This year, your tax-deductible gift could help fund specialised equipment like mechanical CPR machines - providing consistent CPR during cardiac emergencies and allowing our clinical teams to focus on urgent life-saving treatment.

Your support helps us respond faster, invest in innovative care and ensure local patients can access the best possible treatment, close to home.

Every donation, big or small, helps bring our highest need projects to life.

Donate before June 30 and make your tax-deductible gift count - https://ghb-tax-appeal-2026.raiselysite.com/

A comfortable space can make a difficult conversation just that little bit easier 💙

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, 2 Gardiner Pittard now has a new couch for its family meeting room - helping create a more welcoming and compassionate environment for patients, families and staff.

This multi-purpose room is regularly used for sensitive conversations around end-of-life care, discharge planning, NDIS support, residential care placement, family matters and other complex situations. Until recently, the space lacked comfortable seating and felt clinical in nature, despite the important role it plays within the ward.

With no dedicated family lounge or breakout space within the ward, improving this room has become an important way to better support families during stressful and emotional moments.

Tonia Birch, Associate Nurse Unit Manager, shared:
“This space is often used to support patients and families during difficult conversations, and the addition of comfortable furnishings helps to create a more welcoming, compassionate and supportive environment during challenging times.”

Thank you to every donor who helped make this small but meaningful improvement possible for local patients, families and healthcare teams. If you’d like to support projects like this at Grampians Health Ballarat, you can donate here: https://fundraising.gh.org.au/ballarat/

Bring out the cake and candles – our volunteer-run Gift Shop at the Base Hospital is turning 3! 🎉

In just three years, the Base Gift Shop has raised over $30,000. This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without our dedicated volunteers and the amazing support of our community. Thank you to everyone who has purchased from our range of thoughtful gifts – every purchase makes a difference.

Funds raised by the Gift Shop support important projects and departments across Grampians Health Ballarat, including the Centre Against Sexual Assault, our Paediatric Rehabilitation Hub, the Wellness Centre and Mental Health units.
