Every day, patients are accessing innovative treatments and contributing to research that is changing lives. But the demand for clinical trials and emerging therapies continues to grow.

That's why we're asking for your support to help build a dedicated Clinical Research Centre.💜

A purpose-built centre will mean more people can access cutting-edge treatment close to home, surrounded by family, friends and their support network.

Government funding supports essential healthcare services, but community support helps us deliver more, sooner.

We're asking you to donate today and help bring more life-saving research and treatment opportunities to people across Ballarat and the Grampians region. https://ghb-care-closer-to-home.raiselysite.com/

A new specialised podiatry chair at Sloss House is helping our teams provide safer, more coordinated care for patients with complex, high-risk foot wounds.

The chair’s specialised lift and tilt functions allow our Podiatry team to safely assess, debride and manage wounds, while bringing the multidisciplinary team together in one space to review patients and respond quickly when care needs to be escalated.

Up to 480 patients each year receive care for complex, high-risk foot wounds - so having the right equipment can make a meaningful difference to both patients and the teams caring for them.

“This equipment is truly transformative as it enables timely, coordinated assessments and management.”
— Raquel Cowan, Co-Clinical Director, Hospital Without Walls

On Tuesday, we hosted our annual Donor Thank You Event, bringing together some of the people who generously support Grampians Health Ballarat and the work we do across our community.

Guests heard from Grampians Health CEO Dale Fraser, Medical Oncologist and Oncology Research Lead Dr Wasek Faisal and Nurse Unit Manager Lucy Telfer who each shared a different perspective on the difference community support can make.

It was a great opportunity to hear about the work happening across Grampians Health, learn more about our Care Closer to Home Appeal and, most importantly, say thank you.

To everyone who has supported Grampians Health Ballarat and the Ballarat Health Services Foundation - thank you. We’re grateful for your continued support.

Donate to support your loved ones, neighbours and our community by helping build a dedicated Clinical Research Centre. Your donation will expand access to clinical trials, innovative treatments and life-changing research for people across our region. https://fundraising.gh.org.au/ballarat/care-closer-to-home/

💛 Proud to support our local community 💛

This morning, AssistU Directors Abigail and Sally attended the Grampians Health Ballarat morning tea to celebrate the 2026 Cancer Wellness Raffle, which AssistU is very proud to be sponsoring one of the prizes this year.

It was a great opportunity to hear about some of the exciting things happening across Grampians Health, what community donations help make possible, and what’s planned for the future of Ballarat.

As a local Ballarat business, it was wonderful to hear firsthand about the impact community support can have and to learn more about where these donations go. 💛

Abigail and Sally also had the opportunity to catch up with the Grampians Health CEO and grab a photo together 📸

And of course, we had to talk about the raffle prizes… the home upgrade package is still the favourite in the AssistU office! 😂🏡

🎟️ Tickets are $10 each or 6 for $50

In February this year, the Ballarat Highlands Bowls Region community came together for a special Women in Bowls round, proudly wearing pink to show their support for community wellbeing.

The round raised an impressive $18,000 for several worthy causes, with $14,000 of that donated to our Cancer Wellness Centre to directly support local cancer care, a cause that is important to the bowling community.

These funds will help the Cancer Wellness Centre continue to provide free exercise and support programs for cancer patients and their families, including Tai Chi, oncology massage, the wig library, and yoga.

The success of this year’s event demonstrates the power of community, proving that when the bowling community comes together, they can make a real difference both on and off the green.

Care Closer to Home Appeal: Thank you to our generous Founding Donors who share our vision and mission to change lives by providing care closer to home for regional and rural Victorians. We are truly grateful for your generosity and support.

The Founding Donors recently spent time touring the new hospital development and hearing about the importance of the Care Closer to Home appeal as well as the impact that a Family Accommodation Village and a Clinical Research Centre will have for our community now, and into the future.

Our current goal is to raise $6.6M for a dedicated Clinical Research Centre that will expand access to innovative treatments, attract leading researchers and give more people the opportunity to receive life-changing care closer to home. Clinical research helps us find better ways to prevent, diagnose and treat illness through trials, patient experience studies, quality improvement projects and research.

Together, we can bring life-changing care closer to home through clinical trials.
