🙌🏻 Australian Resuscitation Council update.

As of July 2026, if ingestion of a button battery is suspected:

💛 Seek medical care immediately, either by sending for an ambulance or taking the person to the nearest Emergency Department.

💛 Give nothing by mouth if difficulty breathing or bleeding.

💛 Encourage a person over the age of one to swallow 10 mL (2 teaspoons) of honey every 10 minutes until they reach higher level of care. If honey is not available, use jam. Do not delay referral to medical care whilst attempting this.

💛 Encourage a person under the age of one to swallow 10 mL (2 teaspoons) of jam every 10 minutes until they reach higher level of care. Do not use honey. Give nothing else by mouth.

Memberships were due on 31st of July 2026, we have made the decision to extend the due date to the 24th August, unpaid members after this date will be considered non-members and will incur non-member fees for services. We greatly appreciate the contributions our members make in supporting health, wellbeing, and community services for Balmoral and surrounding areas.
However, we understand that circumstances can change.
If the decision not to renew is due to financial difficulties, please contact the centre to speak with Lisa McClure, Acting Health Service Manager
