As Spring is just around the corner and we are approaching warmer weather…. It is the perfect time to start thinking about a tan!

Getting the best out of your Spray Tan

Preparing for your spray tan
* exfoliate (concentrate on areas such as knees, feet, elbows and ankles) at least 12 hours prior to your session.
* No moisturiser, make-up, deodorant and perfume
* Schedule waxing appointments 24 to 48 hours prior to your spray tanning session.
* Wear loose or dark clothing and avoid white clothing or bedding until you have showered.

At the tanning session
* If you are uncomfortable being unclothed during the process, bring along a dark-coloured bikini or underwear.
* The session will require 15 minutes and an additional 5 minutes for the solution to completely dry.
* IMPORTANT!!! When your spray tan is developing, do not get any water on yourself! This means no showers, no swimming, no exercise (no sweating), no washing dishes, no walking outside in the rain, etc

Caring for your spray tan
* Wait at least eight hours before washing, and remember it's normal for some colour to come off when you first shower.
* Keep your water temperature at cool to warm and don't scrub your skin. Instead, gently wash your body and when drying, pat, never rub yourself dry with a towel as this will shed skin cells and remove your tan.
* Scrubbing, exfoliating, shaving, and waxing will make your tan fade more quickly.
* Keep your body well moisturised. Do not use moisturiser or any products that contain the anti-aging chemical Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) as this is known to strip tan very quickly.
* Do not exfoliate until 1 or 2 days before your next tanning session.
