⚖️ The Day I Realised Fitness Wasn’t About Weight Loss

For years, like many women, I thought fitness was mainly about the number on the scales.

If I lost weight, I was succeeding. 🎉

If I didn’t, I felt frustrated.

But somewhere along the way, something changed.

These days, when I jump on my bike for a 30km ride 🚴‍♀️, I don’t spend the whole time thinking about calories burned.

I think about how lucky I am that my body can carry me through beautiful sunrises. ☀️

I think about the fresh air filling my lungs. 🌿

I think about the strength in my legs as they power me up a hill that once seemed impossible. ⛰️

I think about the mental clarity, the peace and the sense of accomplishment I feel afterwards. 💛

The biggest shift happened when I realised fitness wasn’t helping me lose weight…

It was helping me gain so much more.

✨ More energy.
✨ More confidence.
✨ More strength.
✨ More resilience.
✨ More freedom.

Freedom to travel.
Freedom to enjoy life’s adventures.
Freedom to keep doing the things I love.

At 57, my goal isn’t to be thinner.

My goal is to be stronger.

Strong enough to ride my bike.
Strong enough to enjoy the outdoors.
Strong enough to stay independent.
Strong enough to create memories with the people I love. ❤️

Because one day I realised that health isn’t really about how we look.

It’s about how we live.

And honestly?

Feeling energised, capable and excited about life is worth far more than any number on a scale. 😊

I’d love to know…

Have your reasons for exercising changed over the years?

🚴‍♀️ This Morning, I Nearly Stayed in Bed…

The alarm went off this morning and if I’m honest, I really didn’t feel like getting up.

It was one of those mornings where the bed felt warm, comfortable and far more appealing than putting on cycling gear and heading out the door. 😴

I tried negotiating with myself…

“Maybe I’ll go tomorrow.”
“One day won’t matter.”
“I deserve a sleep in.”

But eventually, I dragged myself out of bed and got on the bike.

And I’m so glad I did. ❤️

The morning was absolutely perfect. ☀️

The sun was shining intermittently
The air was fresh.
The world felt calm and peaceful.

As I rode, I could feel my energy returning. My mind became clearer. The stress and busyness of life seemed to fade into the background.

Then came one of my favourite parts of any ride… coffee. ☕😁

Sitting there in the cafe, sipping a hot coffee, feeling alive and grateful, I thought to myself:

“Imagine if I’d stayed in bed.”🧐

I would have missed all of this.😳

Sometimes the hardest part of looking after ourselves isn’t the exercise, the walk, the bike ride or the healthy meal.

It’s simply getting started.

The funny thing is, I’ve never regretted going for a ride.🩷

But I’ve often regretted talking myself out of one.

Today was a reminder that some of the best moments happen after we push past the excuses and show up for ourselves. 💪✨

Have you ever had a day where you didn’t feel like exercising but felt amazing afterwards?

👇 Tell me what got you moving.

☕ A Conversation That Changed My Perspective on Ageing

A while ago, I found myself chatting with an older gentleman while I was out enjoying a coffee after a bike ride. 🚴‍♀️☀️

As we talked, the conversation turned to getting older, and he shared something that has stayed with me ever since.

He told me that when he was younger, he never really thought much about his health. Like many of us, he was busy working, raising a family and dealing with life’s daily demands.

But now, in his later years, he could clearly see the difference between those who had looked after themselves and those who hadn’t.

Some of his friends were still travelling, walking, socialising and enjoying life. 🌏😊

Others were spending more time managing health problems, struggling with mobility or missing out on activities they once loved.

What struck me wasn’t what he said…

It was the emotion behind it.

He wasn’t talking about living forever.

He was talking about living well.

Being able to get up and go where you want.
Being able to enjoy time with family.
Being able to say “yes” to opportunities instead of “I can’t.”

❤️ That’s what healthy ageing means to me.

Not chasing perfection.
Not trying to look 25 again.

But doing the little things today that help us stay strong, capable and independent tomorrow.

At 57, that’s one of the reasons I prioritise my health.

🚴‍♀️ I ride my bike.
🥗 I pay attention to what I eat.
😴 I value rest and recovery.
🌿 I make my wellbeing a priority, not an afterthought.

Because the choices we make today are creating the quality of life we’ll have in the years ahead.

So here’s my question for you…

If you could be doing one thing 20 years from now, what would it be?

👇 Travelling? Hiking? Playing with grandkids? Dancing? Riding a bike?

I would love to hear your answer?

🚴‍♀️ The Hill That Almost Beat Me… ⛰️

Have you ever looked at something and thought, “There’s no way I can do that”?

That was me staring at a long, steep hill on one of my bike rides. 😳

My legs were already tired, my breathing was heavy, and every part of me wanted to turn around and take the easier route.

As I slowly climbed, I wasn’t thinking about reaching the top. I was focused on making it to the next tree… then the next bend… then the next power pole. 🌳➡️⚡

Pedal by pedal, metre by metre, I kept going.

And eventually… I made it. 🎉🙌

What that hill taught me is something I’ve carried into every area of my life:

💛 We don’t have to do everything at once.
💛 We don’t have to be perfect.
💛 We just have to keep moving forward.

The same applies to our health.

You don’t need to completely change your life overnight.

🚶‍♀️ Take a short walk.
💧 Drink an extra glass of water.
🥗 Add a healthy meal.
😴 Prioritise your sleep.

Small steps repeated consistently can take you places you never thought possible.

Today, the hills that once challenged me are the hills that make me stronger. 💪

What’s one small step you’re taking for your health this week?

💪 Strength Isn’t Just About Muscles

When most people hear the word “strength,” they picture lifting weights in a gym.

But for me, strength is so much more than that.

It’s being able to carry the groceries from the car in one trip. 🛒

It’s lifting and playing with your grandchildren without worrying about your back. ❤️

It’s spending hours in the garden doing what you love. 🌻

It’s being able to travel, explore new places and keep up with life’s adventures. ✈️🚶‍♀️

As we get older, maintaining our strength isn’t about looking a certain way. It’s about staying independent, capable and able to enjoy the things that matter most to us.

At 57, I make movement a priority. Whether it’s cycling, walking or simply staying active throughout the day, I know I’m investing in my future self.

I don’t exercise because I have to.

I move because I want to keep doing the things I love for as long as possible. 🚴‍♀️☀️

What is one activity you never want to give up as you get older?

👇 I’d love to hear your answer.

Ladies… are you constantly tired no matter how much sleep you get? 😴
Running on coffee ☕ and pushing through the day with low energy?

You’re definitely not alone. So many women in their 40’s and beyond are feeling exhausted, flat, foggy and just “not themselves” anymore 💛

I’m curious… have you found something that has genuinely helped lift your energy levels naturally? 🌿✨

Or are you still searching for answers?

If you haven’t found the right solution yet, I may have something that could help support your energy, focus and vitality throughout the day 🙌⚡️

🚴‍♀️💛 CANCER touches almost every one of us… 💛🚴‍♀️

A parent. A partner. A friend. A colleague. A neighbour.
At some point in our lives, most of us will hear the words we never want to hear — “It’s cancer.”

That’s exactly why our incredible team of legends will be riding 200km on our bikes to help raise money for cancer research. 💪

Every kilometre we ride is for someone we love.
For those still fighting.
For those we’ve lost.
And for the families walking beside them every single day.

This ride is about hope, strength, community and making a difference — even in a small way. 🚴‍♀️✨

We would love your support as we take on this challenge together. Whether it’s a donation, sharing our post, or simply cheering us on, it all means the world. ❤️

Because cancer doesn’t discriminate… and together, neither should hope.

Systemic inflammation is when your immune system stays switched on across the whole body, even when there’s no real threat.

It’s like a slow burn instead of a single fire.

Over time, it starts damaging healthy tissue and is linked to heart disease, type 2 diabetes, arthritis, fatigue, brain fog, and more.

It’s usually driven by a mix of poor diet, stress, lack of sleep, toxins, and excess body fat.

Inside the body, inflammatory signals stay elevated, which disrupts cellular communication and slows down repair.

Your body is designed to turn inflammation on… then off.

Systemic inflammation is when the off switch isn’t working properly.

Ladies 💛
Take a moment today to look around and really see what you already have.

The little things that pop up in the middle of the hustle and bustle… the quiet wins, the small joys, the moments we usually rush past ☀️✨
Be grateful for the now — because this moment matters.

But also… don’t stop dreaming.
Keep working toward your bigger self, your most worthy self 🚀💫
And please remember — no one gets to stand in your way. Ever. 💪🔥

In this picture are 3 of my favourite things ☕🚲♾️
• Coffee
• My bike
• The number 8 (infinite possibilities)

They remind me to slow down, stay present, and still keep my eyes on what’s possible 🌱

Ladies, quick check-in 💭💖
How are your New Year’s resolutions going so far?

Are you winning?
Are you still showing up?
Or did life sneak in and slow things down a little? 😅

If things haven’t gone to plan — what’s holding you back?
Motivation? Time? Self-doubt? Old habits that are hard to shift?

And if you are moving forward — how does it feel to choose yourself and your future? 🌱✨

This year is still young. There’s still space to change direction, reset intentions, and step into a more positive version of life — one choice at a time.

I’d love to know… where are you at right now? 💬💞
No judgement. Just real conversations between women. 💖✨
