I’ve been obsessed with tiffins for a while. These neat little snack pack food tins originate from India, with the name emerging from 19th century colonised British India. Tiffins or Dabba maintain common use and popularity there where there are regular food delivery services (dabbawallas) with freshly cooked hot curries, rice, chapati, pickles etc. with an almost perfect accuracy of order - something modern Western food delivery services can’t come close to.

Penumbral Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio

This rare event is the second New Moon in Aries this year, offering another fresh start and an opportunity to reflect on commitments and areas where we want or need to take action.

Eclipse energy can be intense and unpredictable, so it is important to approach this time with caution and engage consciously with this portal of accelerated change.

The opposition aspect to the South Node in Scorpio and the square to Pluto, ruler of Scorpio, in Aquarius indicate that death and rebirth, endings and beginnings, will be a significant feature of this Eclipse season. The paired Lunar Eclipse in this cycle is in Scorpio, further emphasising themes of transformation and letting go.

The Solar Eclipse offers a deeper and more long-lasting portal than a regular New Moon, so take time to reflect on your intentions made during the last New Moon as this is a second chance to reprioritise. We can reflect on our commitments and intentions from the last lunar cycle and make any necessary adjustments.

Welcome to the Full Moon in Libra, loves. 🌕

A Libra Full Moon is a time for balancing the needs of self and others.

This is a powerful one, with a stellium of Jupiter, Sun, and Chiron in opposition to the Moon.

The conjunction of Jupiter and Chiron offers an opportunity for expansion and healing, particularly around relational wounds that we carry.

The Moon is reflecting important information back to us, offering an opportunity to look within and take responsibility for our part in any relationships that are not working as harmoniously as we would like them to.

As we take stock of our relationships during this Full Moon, we can use these energies to bring more balance and healing to our lives by reflection on which areas need more attention from us - whether this be giving ourselves more time for self care or being more mindful when engaging with those around us.

I’m deep underwater at the moment, loves.

I wonder if Saturn’s transit though Pisces in my second house isn’t going to be more of a crucible than its transit through my first in Aquarius, where my Sun and Mercury also reside.

With Pluto entering Aquarius tomorrow for the precursor to a two decade transit, I’m feeling pulled under, awash in the dark waters. My mood is heavy, dark, and teary.

The pressure builds and I want to gasp for air, but I’m in too deep. I have no choice but to surrender. To return to the freeing and fundamental truth, that I am powerless.

“What’s that?”, I hear you wonder!

With so much discourse about empowerment and creating our own realities it can be easy to conflate control with enlightenment. But in acknowledging my powerlessness, I am free to focus on what I can control, and to deepen into trust and faith.

It’s here in the murky depths that I remember. And I surrender. To God, Spirit, Mother Earth, the Universe, Dagda, whatever you want to call that which is entirely greater than me.

In these depths I will choose surrender rather than struggle. I will find stillness and peace, so that I can listen to the lessons of the dark.

This is an incredibly potent window of time astrologically, but for now let’s explore the energies of the New Moon.

March 22 ushers in a fresh start with the beginning of a new Zodiac cycle, and with it another opportunity to sow seeds of intention - and action - for our future.

This New Moon in Aires is supercharged with momentum with the sign still hosting Jupiter, and its ruler Mars squared in Gemini.

We may be tempted to move too fast or jump into something without being fully grounded, so heed caution if you find yourself noticing this pattern arising.

To support in this area, Mars is calling on Saturn for some more considered thoughts and plans to assist us with all this fiery energy in motion.

This is also a time with the forming intense connections with Mercury and Gemini’s energies, which are quick moving, socially adept, and highly intellectual.

Enjoy the extra zip, but don’t catch fire!

When I talk about my life story, folks are always blown away by the extent and variety of my experiences.

This is just a tiny glimpse into my background and some of what informs how I practice and teach astrology, as well as how I support individuals and communities to connect and grow in conscious, intentional ways.

Astrology is both a science and a mystical art form. There’s brilliant, specific, mathematical calculation and patterns, and there’s also something almost outside of language and measurement.

It’s the less definable mystic energies that we’ll be delving into in Astrological Odyssey. It’s a journey into the unknown, where you might just find long lost parts of yourself.

We begin on March 22nd and I can’t wait to journey with you.

I’m not mincing words on this one.

While some folks gain comfort from the concept of a soul contract - the notion that their higher self chose to experience certain events and relationships as part of this journey - it is NEVER up to a coach or spiritual mentor to decide this for a victim!

I see patterns of wounding and opportunities for soul growth reflected in people’s astrology charts every week. That in no way means that these individuals are doomed to lives of pain, abandonment, abuse, scarcity. It also in no way means that they are responsible for all of these challenging or traumatic experiences in their lives!

From a trauma informed perspective it actually makes sense that we can often tend to end up in situations that recreate traumatic experiences, such a relationships with people who abuse us. Our nervous system’s propensity to seek out the familiar does not make the harmful actions of another person our fault.

While we are responsible for taking care of ourselves as adults, we also require support and knowledge in order to grow. Maya Angelou reminded us that when we know better, we do better. I would add that when we know better and have enough support in the field, we can truly heal and live our best lives.

Instead of blaming victims, how about we dig deep and actually allow ourselves to feel with them and support them, rather than adding shame to the pile.
