š¹ THE BODY SPEAKS
Iāve been thinking a lot lately about how our body is always talking to us.
Years ago, when I was working at the bank, every afternoon around 3 oāclock Iād hit a wall. I was exhausted.
So what did I do?
Iād grab a chocolate bar. š«
It gave me that little pick-me-up and Iād keep going.
The problem was⦠within hours Iād end up with a migraine that would have me in bed for three days. Strong pain relief, curtains closed, hoping it would pass.
After years of this I finally thoughtā¦
Hang on a minute⦠why do I keep getting so sick?
Instead of just treating the migraine, I became curious.
I started asking myself questions.
š What have I eaten today?
š What have I had to drink?
š Is this happening on certain days?
š What did I do differently today?
š Is there a pattern?
One by one I started eliminating things.
Until eventuallyā¦
It came down to one thing.
Chocolate.
I wasnāt unlucky.
My body had been talking to me all along.
I just didnāt know how to listen.
That experience changed the way I looked at my body forever.
Now, before anyone panics⦠Iām not saying every headache means youāre allergic to chocolate. š
What I am saying isā¦
Our body is incredibly clever.
It gives us clues every single day.
Sometimes itās food.
Sometimes itās stress.
Sometimes itās exhaustion.
Sometimes itās emotions weāve been carrying for years.
The trick isnāt to jump to conclusions.
The trick is to become curious.
To start asking better questions.
Because the more we understand the language of our bodyā¦
The more we begin to understand ourselves.
ā¤ļø Iād love to knowā¦
Has your body ever been trying to tell you something that you only realised later?
