✨
I finally realized... I wasn't just rebuilding my life. I was designing one I actually loved.
For years, survival was enough.
Just make it through the day.
Keep everyone else happy.
Put your own dreams on hold.
✨
But healing changes something.
One day you stop asking, "How do I survive this?"
✨
And you start asking...
"What kind of life do I want to wake up to?”
✨
That's when you begin choosing the little things that make your soul feel at home.
✨
A cozy space.
Fresh flowers.
Peaceful mornings.
Healthy boundaries.
Joy without guilt.
✨
You begin to grow.
Allow yourself to take up more space.
Speak your truth.
And nurture who you truly are & who you are becoming.
✨
Along that healing, accepting journey, you will find the people who liked you small.
Liked you in your place. Liked it when you didn’t call out their poor behaviours.
Liked it when you accepted their bullying, abuse, neglect, ignorance without question.
✨
It’s surprising at times who lets you down.
✨
This is the hard part of shifting into a life you love, that is rarely shared.
The loss.
The loss of friends, loss of in-laws, loss of partners or even the loss of adult children.
✨
The loss of ones who you thought would propel you, support you & be your champions… liked you better when you took up less space.
✨
Like a beautiful tree moving into the winter. Changes are subtle, leaves change colour one by one. And when the tree no longer needs the leaves and the leaves are no longer sustained by the tree, they begin to fall.
Parting ways as the tree releases the leaves back to nature.
With time, spring returns & the tree has space for new abundant leaves to grow & flourish.
✨
Like the tree, You're not just surviving anymore. With growth comes necessary loss. It is a natural part of the evolution of life.
Loss allows you the space to bring in the supports, friends, family and kindred spirits who truly support you. Who believe in you. And who enjoy the light you emanate.
You are finally decorating YOUR life.
Your way.
The one you deserved all along.
