You may still lodge an Inquiry Form but it will not be processed until February 2023. We are a volunteer organization and our Committee Members need their holiday time as well. IF YOU WISH TO MAKE AN INQUIRY:

You cannot proceed to application without submitting an Inquiry Form via the website. The Application Documents are available for reading only, to understand the process, and requirements. Especially please refer to the Recommended Breeds Policy and the 2023 Public Access Standards

IF YOU WISH TO KNOW MORE ABOUT PAD or Assistance Dogs in general, scroll through the page and watch the videos provided, or go to the website for further information. PLEASE BE AWARE:
PAD has a Recommended and Accepted Breed Policy. This means your dog MAY NOT be accepted by PAD even if another organization permits that particular breed/ xbreed. PAD does not tolerate bullying, discrimination or the non-compliance with public access standards for its Teams. PAD has strict Codes, Policies and Procedures and By-Laws, Handlers are required to sign agreements to these. Any Handler not meeting standard or abiding by any of these may be re-registered without appeal or refund. PAD is not for everyone and everyone is not for PAD. We are ok with that. PAD is here to support those who are willing to meet the expectations of the Association and the its current Teams. PAD Handlers are not members of the Association, they are registered under it. The Committee Members are volunteers. The Administrator is a volunteer. When not temporarily closed, Inquiries are responded to, where possible, within 5-15 working days of receipt of the form via the website. If this is not suitable to you, its possible PAD is not the organization for you

While the Office is temporarily closed, no phone calls will be answered. PAD will be back in February 2023. PHONE CALLS WILL ONLY BE ANSWERED BETWEEN 10am & 4pm WEEKDAYS, dependent on availability of the Administrator. PHONE CALLS WILL NOT BE ANSWERED DURING THE WEEKEND. PAWSOME ADMINISTRATOR would like to provide an overview of the PAD INQUIRIES process.

Remember we are a volunteer organization. We will process these as quickly as possible.

The inquiry process involves
1. Lodging an Inquiry Form via the Website
2. Having that Inquiry assessed
3. If applicable, receiving a phone interview
4. If suitable, progressing to a face-to-face interview
5. If applicable, Lodging all the Application documents
6. Being assessed by the Executive
7. If accepted, paying your fees
8. Only then will you receive registration documentation, a jacket and be added to the Closed Handler Group

This process can take 1-3 months depending on when it’s commenced.

If that is not suitable to you, PAD is probably not the organization for your needs.

IF YOUR DOG IS OVER ONE YEAR & has not already been training to be, or is working as an ASSISTANCE DOG, either with another organization or with you as an Independent Handler, it is unlikely to be accepted.

If your dog is not on the Recommended and Accepted Breeds Policy, it is unlikely to be accepted.

Dogs cannot COMMENCE TRAINING to be an AD over one year with PAD unless there are exceptional circumstances
