I’d love to introduce one of the newest members of the Bliss Disability Support Services team, Ezekiel! 💙

Ezekiel brings a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and dedication to his role as a Support Worker. As an MBA Graduate and holder of a Certificate III in Individual Support, he combines professional qualifications with a genuine passion for helping others achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives.

With more than three years of experience supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds, Ezekiel is committed to promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing through person-centred support. His caring nature, strong communication skills, and commitment to excellence make him a fantastic addition to the Bliss family.

Outside of work, Ezekiel enjoys playing football, bowling, watching movies, and exploring new opportunities for personal growth and learning. His positive attitude and desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others are evident in everything he does.

The recent Federal Budget has confirmed major reforms are coming to the NDIS sector, with the Government aiming to significantly reduce the Scheme’s growth over the coming years.

While I understand the need for accountability and long-term sustainability, I personally do not agree with many of these proposed changes.

As someone working within the disability sector every day, I see firsthand how critical the NDIS is for participants and families across Australia. For many people living with disability, these supports are not optional — they are essential for independence, safety, community access, and quality of life.

My concern is that tighter funding controls, increased restrictions, and growing compliance requirements may place additional pressure on genuine participants, frontline workers, and ethical providers who are already operating under significant strain.

The disability sector is already facing:
• Workforce shortages
• Rising operational costs
• Increased insurance and compliance expenses
• Housing and support accessibility challenges

I believe reform should focus on removing fraud and improving outcomes without negatively impacting vulnerable Australians who genuinely rely on these supports every single day.

Behind every NDIS plan is a real person who deserves dignity, compassion, and the opportunity to live their life to the fullest.

The voices of participants, families, support workers, allied health professionals, and providers must continue to be heard throughout these reforms.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mums, grandmothers, carers, and mother figures 💙

Today at Bliss Disability Support Services, we take a moment to celebrate the unconditional love, strength, sacrifice, and dedication that mothers give every single day.

This post is especially close to our hearts as Bliss was created in honour of our director’s beautiful mother, Deborah. After caring for his Mum through sickness until the very end, our director was inspired by her strength, kindness, and favourite poem, Footprints in the Sand, to create Bliss Disability Support Services in 2020.

Our logo and motto, “Hand in Hand, Step by Step,” symbolise the journey of walking beside others with compassion, support, and care — the same love that inspired the foundation of Bliss.

Today we remember and honour Deborah, along with all mothers who continue to guide, inspire, and watch over their families each and every day ❤️

Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Raissa, one of the incredible Support Workers here at Bliss Disability Support Services 💙

Raissa brings a diverse background shaped by rich life experiences that have helped develop her resilience, adaptability and strong interpersonal skills. Her compassionate nature and practical understanding allow her to genuinely connect with individuals from all walks of life while advocating for the unique needs and goals of every participant she supports.

With qualifications in Individual Support, Community Services and First Aid, Raissa is passionate about continuing to grow her knowledge and skills to ensure she provides the highest level of care and support possible.

Her specialties include compassionate caregiving, communication, teamwork, crisis support strategies and strong time management skills — all of which help her provide meaningful, person-centred support every single day.

Outside of work, Raissa enjoys spending quality time with family, cooking delicious meals, listening to music, staying active through fitness and nature walks, and relaxing with comedy and romance TV shows or movies 🌿🎶

A fun fact about Raissa is that she speaks three languages, allowing her to connect with people from many different cultures and backgrounds. She believes language is a powerful way to build understanding, trust and meaningful relationships 💬🌍

We’re incredibly lucky to have Raissa as part of the Bliss family and know she will make a positive difference in the lives of so many people within our community 💙

✨ INTRODUCING MARIA AKA “TIA” ✨

Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Maria (Tia), one of the incredible Support Workers here at Bliss Disability Support Services 💙

At 29 years old, Maria proudly represents her Māori, Tokelauan and Samoan heritage and brings with her a strong passion for helping others, along with a diverse background and a heart full of compassion.

Originally from Rotorua, New Zealand, Maria made the move to Australia after high school before settling on the beautiful Gold Coast to be closer to family. Coming from a large family with 13 siblings, she understands the true importance of connection, support, teamwork and community.

Maria has completed her Certificate III in Disability Support and is excited to begin her Certificate IV soon as she continues building her skills and knowledge within the disability sector.

Before joining the industry, Maria gained valuable experience in warehousing, stocktaking, machine operation, food processing and furniture removals — experiences that helped shape her strong work ethic, adaptability and team-focused mindset.

Outside of work, Maria enjoys spending quality time with family, cooking and baking delicious treats, watching movies and series, singing, dancing, drawing and playing card games. She’s also a huge fan of NRL and netball 🏐🏉

One thing Maria loves most is staying active with her family dog and creating fun memories with loved ones — because for her, life is all about family, laughter and adventure 🐾
