We were pleased to welcome Hon Tony Burke MP, Federal Member for Watson, to Innerlink Therapy to discuss the future of disability supports and the impact of the proposed NDIS reforms.
During his visit, we shared how our occupational therapists and speech pathologists support children, adolescents and adults to build communication, independence and everyday living skills that improve participation and quality of life.
We also spoke about our concerns regarding the proposed NDIS reforms and the potential impact on participants, families and the allied health providers who support them. Access to timely, evidence-based therapy is essential. When people cannot access the right support at the right time, the effects can be lifelong.
As a long-standing registered NDIS provider, we believe reforms should strengthen the Scheme while protecting participant choice, access to quality services and the sustainability of ethical providers delivering high-quality care.
Thank you, Tony, for taking the time to visit our team, hear our experiences and engage in an important conversation. We will continue to advocate for an NDIS that enables people with disability to communicate, participate and thrive.
