I honestly had it all so wrong when it came to food timing and training.

For years I avoided carbs, thinking they were the enemy… when really, they are our friend when it comes to fueling performance.

Our bodies are incredible, and one of the biggest things I’ve learnt is the importance of eating to fuel — not just eating for the sake of it.

All those years I felt fatigued and thought I was unfit… when in reality, my body simply wasn’t getting the fuel it needed to perform properly.

Nutrition is fundamental to our wellbeing, and understanding how to nourish our bodies is such a beautiful thing. Imagine if we all treated our bodies with the respect and care they deserve. 🤍

After a big training week and a social weekend, I prioritised recovery — sauna, hot/cold plunge, rest, hydration and a cleanse day with Isagenix. I’ve reset, recharged, and my body is ready to perform again. ✨

Getting my fueling right has made a MASSIVE difference to my performance, energy, recovery and mindset. Today proved that 100%. Fueling correctly the day before and on the day completely changed how I showed up and performed.

Lemon cheesecake but make it high protein 🍋🥤

This Lemon Cheesecake Collagen Smoothie from Chief Nutrition is such a good option when you want something quick, refreshing and satisfying without feeling heavy.

✔️ High in collagen + protein
✔️ Gluten free
✔️ Creamy, zesty and actually tastes like dessert
✔️ Easy pre or post training option

I love that it combines healthy fats, protein and flavour all in one smoothie. The lemon zest gives it that fresh cheesecake vibe while the collagen helps support recovery, joints, skin and muscle repair too.

A few tweaks I’d personally add depending on your goals:
• Add 1/2 frozen banana post workout for extra carbs and recovery

1st attempt at a solo full HYROX simulation ✔️

Today proved that it’s not always about fitness alone — it’s about how well you fuel, recover, pace yourself, and learning where you come unstuck during the race.

The more I train for HYROX, the more I realise performance nutrition plays such a huge role in energy, strength, endurance and recovery.

Still learning, still improving, but definitely heading in the right direction 🔥💪
Training for both solo and doubles now, and it’s honestly such a motivating goal to work towards. Today was tough, but I could already feel the difference that better fueling beforehand made.

I felt strong throughout, stayed consistent, and still had energy left in the tank at the end 🙌

Plenty of room for improvement, but this feels like a really solid start — excited to keep building from here. 💪🔥 FuelToPerform

After doing a Performance Nutrition Diagnostic with coach Laura from LVLUP, I was honestly amazed at what my audit revealed.

There was a really clear pattern showing that my body has been working hard just to keep up with the demands I’ve been placing on it — mainly due to low fuel availability.

As someone who focuses heavily on food quality and health-conscious choices (which is a fantastic foundation in my line of work), I realised my current nutrition structure still wasn’t adequately supporting my training, recovery and performance adaptation.

The biggest takeaway? I need better fuel support around training — especially carbohydrates and overall energy availability.

Today I made a few simple tweaks to my carb intake around training, and I already noticed a difference in my session quality, energy and output.

As a nutritionist, I’m always cautious with supplements — and I sat on the fence about AG1 for a long time.

Not because I didn’t understand it… but because most people don’t need another “quick fix.”

After trialling it properly, here’s my honest take:

It’s not a replacement for whole foods. It won’t outdo a well-balanced diet.
But — it can be a practical tool.

On busy days, when variety drops or life gets chaotic, it’s an easy way to support micronutrient intake without overcomplicating things.

I’ve also found it can support energy levels — especially when consistency with nutrition isn’t perfect.

And here’s the key difference: most multivitamins fall short when it comes to absorption, dosage, or nutrients. AG1 is far more comprehensive, which is why it stands out.

What I look for as a practitioner:
✔️ Consistency over perfection
✔️ Simplicity clients can stick to
✔️ Supporting, not replacing, real food

AG1 fits into that support role — not the foundation.

Would I use it with clients? In the right context, yes.
