Not all pelvic floor problems are weakness.

Sometimes it’s tension your body never learned to let go of.
And sometimes it can both!

Some telltale signs we see in clinic include butt clenching, jaw tightness, knee locking and shallow breathing.

Basically CONSTANT ‘holding.’

Your nervous system and pelvic floor are deeply connected, and stress often shows up in the body before we even notice it.

Learning to relax can be just as important as learning to strengthen.

Do you do any of these things?

POV: You’re pregnant and suddenly your ribs start hurting 🤰💥

A patient came in with rib pain during pregnancy, and here’s what we talked about👇

As your baby grows, your body has to make room — and it’s not just your belly expanding. Your uterus starts off about the size of a fist and gradually grows to support your baby, taking up more space in your abdomen.

So where do your organs go?
They get pushed UP 😳

To accommodate all of this, your rib cage actually expands and flares outward to create more space. While this is completely normal, it can lead to discomfort & pain around the ribs, as well as breathlessness.

And here’s the key part 👇
After pregnancy, those ribs don’t always return fully to their original position.

That’s why rehab and personalised advice matters!!

We focus on:
✔️ Posture retraining
✔️ Manual treatment to release rib joint stiffness
✔️ Breathing mechanics
✔️ Core + rib cage strengthening

Because your body adapted for pregnancy — now we help it adapt back 💪

Save this if you’re pregnant or postpartum and dealing with rib pain

Pump parts don’t last forever.

This was something I didn’t realise for a while! Replacing them can make such a difference to your output.

Sharing this as my final pumping tip because after 9 months of breastfeeding and pumping that chapter is closed. 📖

Jumping on the trend because it’s just too fun looking back 10 years ago! So much has happened in both my personal and professional life.

Thanks for those who have been part of the journey with me, and looking forward to sharing the achievements of 2026 in another 10 years 😂

If you’ve been told you have abdominal separation (DRAM)
please know: it’s common, it’s normal, and it’s NOT the enemy.

Here’s what we know:
✨ Up to 100% of pregnant women develop DRAM by the end of the third trimester
✨ It’s your body adapting to grow your baby — not “failing” or “breaking”
✨ Exercise does not make it worse
✨ Strengthening (with good technique + breath control) actually helps improve tension and function

Most importantly:

DRAM is not something to fear & it’s something we can rehab.

As a women’s health physio, I see it every day.

With the right approach, your core can feel strong, supported and functional again. 💛
