Giftedness can look different for every child.

For some, it’s advanced learning.

For others, it’s deep thinking, curiosity or strong emotional awareness.

Gifted children can still need support, particularly when their strengths and challenges don’t always align.

An assessment can help build understanding and ensure their needs are supported in the right way.

Meagan has experience in gifted assessments and can support your child in building a clearer understanding of their strengths and learning profile.

When might an ADHD assessment be helpful?

Families may consider an ADHD assessment when they notice ongoing challenges with attention, activity levels or regulation.

This might look like:
• Difficulty sustaining focus• High levels of activity or restlessness
• Acting quickly without thinking
• Struggles with organisation or routines
• Big emotions that are hard to manage

An assessment can help provide clarity, understanding and guidance on how best to support your child.

Wondering if your child needs an assessment?

If someone has suggested to you that your child might need an assessment by a psychologist, but you're not sure what or where to start, our team can support and guide you through the process.

Our Assessment Consultation service is a one-off appointment designed to help parents feel heard, supported, and clearer about what to do next.

In this session, we:

• listen carefully to your concerns
• help you make sense of what you’re seeing in your child
• talk through whether an assessment may be helpful
• leave you with a greater understanding a clear plan for next steps, even if that step is “not yet”

There’s no obligation to proceed with an assessment through us.
You’re welcome to take the information and move forward elsewhere if that’s what works best for your family.

Available online or in person.

Sometimes clarity and reassurance are the most helpful first step.

Contact us on 8821 6577 to book or to see if this consultation is right for you.

Assessments at Step by Step

At Step by Step, we offer a range of psychological assessments to help families better understand how their child learns, thinks, and experiences the world.

Our assessments may explore:
• Cognitive abilities
• Academic skills
• Autism
• ADHD
• Learning profiles and learning difficulties
• Giftedness

Assessments can provide valuable insight into a child’s strengths and areas where additional support may be helpful, helping guide both home and school support.

If you’re unsure whether an assessment might be helpful, give us a call on 8821 6577. Our team is happy to discuss options with you.
