WARNING....some of the pictures that follow are not for the squeamish! This lovely patient had been missing his lower left molar for many years. He decided he wanted to be able to chew on his left side again. We placed a dental implant using digitally guided technology to improve predictability of the procedure. The photos begin with the initial digital plan and end with the final result in the X-ray. Both myself and the patient were very happy with the outcome. CAN YOU TELL WHICH IS THE REPLACEMENT TOOTH?!

Gold crown going in! Did you know that there are many advantages of having a crown or a cap made of gold? One of these is that less tooth structure needs to be removed before placing the crown. Another is that the tooth that bites against the gold will wear away at a slower rate compared to some other material such as porcelain! So if the tooth requiring a crown is not visible consider going for gold!

Another beautiful crown ready to be cemented today. A crown is basically a “helmet” for the tooth which protects a vulnerable tooth from fracturing in a way that we are not able to repair it. It should look and feel like a natural tooth too!!
