Iโ€™m excited to welcome Leah Fowler, Accredited Practising Dietitian and Credentialled Eating Disorder Clinician, who will be consulting from Wellness One on Fridays.

Leah provides compassionate, evidence-based nutrition support for children, adults and families and can assist with:

Today is my first anniversary at Wellness One Boonah and this week has reminded me why I still love being a chiropractor. ๐Ÿฅณโค๏ธ

A long-time headache sufferer had their first headache-free days in years, another patient could lift his arms again to continue building his dream shed, a lady lost 7.5 cm around her waist in six weeks, and a farmer finished ploughing after his neck pain was adjusted. I also shared memories with someone grieving the loss of their life partner.

These moments of healing connections are why I love what I do. Thank you for letting me be part of your lives. ๐Ÿ’š

Today I celebrate 38 years as a Chiropractor ๐ŸŽ‰
As I look back on my journey- from being a 21 year old student in Melbourne doing my very first adjustment, to now practicing in the heart of Boonah- Iโ€™m filled with gratitude.

Thank you to everyone who has trusted me with their care, shared their stories, and allows me to keep doing what I love. Your goals, your progress and your willingness to let me walk alongside you mean more than I can say.

Iโ€™m truly honoured to be part of this community and excited for many more years of shared moments, good conversations and great results.

Thank you to this community- and thank you to all whoโ€™ve been part of these 38 wonderful years. ๐Ÿ’›โœจ

Sarcopenia- Letโ€™s Talk About It ๐Ÿ’ช

I attended a conference on sarcopenia this weekend, and it was a big reminder of how important muscle strength is as we age. Iโ€™ll be keeping an eye out for early signs in the clinic to help support you better.

What is Sarcopenia?
Itโ€™s the age-related loss of muscle strength and muscle mass. It can make daily tasks harder, like getting out of a chair, carrying groceries, or climbing stairs.

How do you know if you may have it?
โœ… Weak grip strength
โœ… Slower walking speed
โœ… Loss of muscle mass

What helps treat or prevent it?
๐Ÿ‹๏ธ Strength training 2-3 times a week
๐Ÿฅฉ Protein with each meal (eggs, fish, beans, lean meats)
๐Ÿšถโ€โ™‚๏ธ Move daily and avoid long periods of sitting
โ˜€๏ธ Vitamin D if needed

The good news? Sarcopenia isnโ€™t โ€œjust ageingโ€. With the right exercise and nutrition, you can stay strong, active, independent at any age! ๐Ÿ’š
