Science shows that your brain processes internal self talk using the same neural pathways as external speech. Your amygdala (emotional regulator) responds to what you say to yourself with the same cortisol and threat activation as hearing those words from someone else. You are not just thinking. You are talking to your nervous system all day. And it is listening to every word. đź§

I’ve had 3 patients say they feel worse on the Emma product : on researching they have excipients that will disrupt your gut lining. Rice flour that’s sprayed with Glyphosphate, chemicals and gmo, mag stearate (chemical), hypeomellose and others. I wouldn’t use those ingredients or trust their origins for what they are saying it’s for. If your taking the Emma product or any product that’s not TGA approved I will be unable to successfully manage your case due to Intereactuons or harm caused by excess chemicals and herbal substitution ie the herbs are not the herbs they are saying it is . Did you know that 70 percent of Ashwagandha products from overseas are substituted with a cheaper herb. This could cause dangerous medication interactions.
Please cease all overseas products or inform me of this prior to seeing me. You can check the TGA website before purchasing any products to check their excipients if they are TGA approved: to do this: google the product name, the brand plus “TGA” ie
Caruso (brand) ginkgo 12000 (product name) and TGA summary
please see a video of how to check your excipients below. Wishing our community a wonderful weekend and encouraging your to rely on healthy diets and quality foods over taking tablets unless they are specifically prescribed for you by a health professional that you can trust.

Testosterone is the principal hormone in men, playing an essential role in reproductive, metabolic, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular and general health.

Testosterone levels gradually decline with age, reducing androgen activity and contributing to symptoms beyond sexual dysfunction, including loss of muscle mass and strength, fatigue, metabolic and vascular dysfunction, and mood changes.

The role of the HPG axis
The HPG axis is the primary neuroendocrine pathway responsible for regulating testosterone production and s***matogenesis. Ageing, oxidative stress, chronic disease and lifestyle factors such as chronic stress and nutritional deficiencies, can impair signalling within this axis, leading to reduced testosterone production and broader effects on male health

The Natural approach to testosterone production and male health:
**Research suggests that specific herbs and nutrients, including tribulus, tong kat ali, damiana, shatavari, Korean ginseng, withania, goji berry, cordyceps, zinc, vitamin D, selenium and boron, may provide support across multiple pathways involved in testosterone production and male vitality.

Damiana
**Damiana has traditionally been used as a sexual tonic and supports sexual function via neuroendocrine, nitric oxide (NO)-mediated vascular, and hormone-modulating mechanisms. Damiana also exhibits anti-aromatase activity, which may support testosterone availability, and antioxidant properties that help protect testicular tissue and reproductive function.
At Boonah Natural Health Dispensay, we have liquid, powdered and tablet forms of Damiana.

Clinically, damiana has been associated with improvements in:

âś” Libido

âś” Erectile function

âś” Or****ic function and sexual desire

âś” Sexual performance

Tribulus

The steroidal saponins found in tribulus, particularly protodioscin, appear to enhance nitric oxide production and endothelial function, promoting vasodilation and healthy erectile responses. It also exhibits antioxidant activity within reproductive tissues, protecting against oxidative stress and preserving testicular function. Tribulus may also support testosterone production through effects on the HPG axis and steroidogenic pathways. It has also shown to reduce inflammation and odema in the prostate, supporting BPH.

Clinically, tribulus is known for its ability to:

âś” Improve sexual function (libido, erectile function, overall sexual performance)

âś” Enhance s***m concentration, motility and fertility parameters

âś” Improve testosterone in men with low baseline levels

âś” Support muscle recovery and anaerobic performance

Korean ginseng

A unique aspect of Korean ginseng is that the compounds in Ginseng, Ginsenosides stimulate NO production within pe**le tissue, improving blood flow and erectile responses, while antioxidant actions help protect Leydig cells and reproductive tissues from oxidative damage.

Clinically, Korean ginseng has demonstrated improvements in:

âś” Erectile function, libido, sexual desire

âś” S***m concentration, motility and morphology

âś” Testosterone and reproductive hormone levels

âś” Energy production, fatigue, stress resilience, mitochondrial function

âś” Metabolic and cardiovascular health

Goji berry

Rich in bioactive polysaccharides, goji berry may enhance GnRH, LH, and FSH signalling, thereby promoting testosterone production, and protect Leydig and Sertoli cells from inflammation and oxidative stres

Clinically, goji supplementation has been associated with improvements in:

âś” Testosterone levels

âś” S***m count, motility and morphology

âś” Energy, stress resilience, mental acuity and overall wellbeing

Boonah Natural Health has ordered bulk organic gogi berries to support antioxidant and hormone levels.

Cordyceps

The bioactive compound cordycepin appears to activate steroidogenic pathways in Leydig cells, promoting testosterone production, while its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects protect reproductive tissues from age-related, metabolic, and oxidative damage.

Cordyceps also modulates nitric oxide signalling and neuroendocrine pathways, while enhancing energy metabolism and oxygen utilisation, thereby promoting vitality and physical performance.

Clinically, cordyceps has been associated with improvements in:
âś” Testosterone production
âś” S***m quality, motility and morphology
âś” Sexual function
âś” Endurance and exercise capacity
âś” Resistance to fatigue

Key nutrients

Zinc and selenium are essential for testosterone production, steroidogenic enzyme activity, testicular function, and s***m development, and protect reproductive tissues from oxidative stress. Vitamin D supports steroidogenic signalling, HPG axis regulation and nitric oxide-mediated endothelial function, while boron enhances testosterone bioavailability by reducing SHBG binding.

Clinically, these actions translate into improvements in various markers, particularly in men with nutrient insufficiencies, ageing-related decline, or fertility concerns:
âś” Testosterone status

âś” Erectile function

âś” Libido

âś” Semen quality

âś” Male hormonal health

Education essentials

Rather than focusing solely on testosterone levels, supporting male health requires consideration of the interconnected pathways that influence endocrine signalling, vascular function, oxidative balance, fertility and vitality.

Boonah Natural Health has the highest quality liquid herbal medicines, our team can make a bespoke blend tailored to your health needs, ( made in Warwick under the patented cold extraction process, by the worlds most trusted herbal medicine lab, Mediherb.)

Stress is part of every day life, triggered by external pressures or from within. Chronic stress can take it's toll on the body by exhausting the nervous and adrenal systems. How we manage it is crucal : being kind and gentle with ourselves is essentail to finding the balance and maintaining calm during increased times of stress.
What are the signs I am stressed?
Physical Signs of Stress:
*changes in appetite and digestive function
*trouble "switching off" and enjoying rest times
*poor concentration
*forgetfulness
*feeling jittery or agitated or overwhelmed
*feeling breathless
*trouble making decisions
*recurring colds and flu
*tense sore muscles
*elevated blood pressure
*sleep issues

You may get a stress trigger, on top of an already stressed body: blood pressure can increase, you suddenly feel shakey, increased sweating, increase blood flow to muscles: tingling of the arms and legs as blood is sent from brain to these other areas, getting you ready to run from threat.
What if that trigger is internal and it becomes panic, anxiety: your best friend during these times is to push the chemical coctail caused by stress out of the receptor so your heart can slow, breathing can relax and you can get a sense of stability in that moment: KEY PLAYER: L- Theanine: 600mg
Magnesium Glycinate: 150-300mg: start to breath slowly and wait 15 mins: you will feel much calmer: however there are herbs that work fast if extra releif is needed:
Kava, Passsionflower, Valerian, if you need additional support.

Chronic Stress: the processes in our body that happen automatically such as breathing, heartbeat, digestion and immune function are all controlled by your nervous system: this encompasses the parasympathetic (calm pathway, the brake, rest and digest, blood pressure and heart rate reduce) and sympathetic systems (activated the stress, fright or flight).

Ultimately we need to support the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS) and reduce the sympathetic response for good health.

There are a number of things we can do to support the PNS: some are so simple and can be done any time: humming, slow breathing, gargling in the shower, getting a massage, take adaptogenic herbs and B vitamins to support nervous system, eat regulaly and priortise a good sleep.

Creamy blended overnight oats the whole family will love.
This 5-minute, no-cook breakfast has 11 grams of protein per serving and all the creamy, pudding-like texture of a treat with none of the added sugar. Simple, nutritious, and perfect for busy mornings, they can be made ahead and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Really great for kiddies that don’t like the normal texture of porridge.

Ingredients
â–˘ 1 cup organic gluten free rolled oats
â–˘ 1 cup milk of choice
â–˘ 1 medium banana
â–˘ 1/2 cup Greek or coconut yogurt (120g)
â–˘ 1 tablespoon organic chia seeds
â–˘ 1 tablespoon maple syrup and 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)

Instructions
Add all the ingredients into your blender and blend and blend until smooth. It will be very liquid-y but don't worry!
Pour the blended oats mixture into a jar with a lid or an airtight container and refrigerate overnight. When ready to eat, give it a good stir. Adjust the thickness (see below), if needed, top with your favorite toppings, and enjoy!
Notes
If you prefer a thicker consistency, add an extra tablespoon of chia seeds or some nut butter (or seed butter) and refrigerate for 10-15 minutes. I would be careful as overly thick blended oats can taste pasty.

We currently have a limited amount of gluten free un contaminated Australian rolled oats. Our suppliers have said that uncontaminated GF oats is not allowable to be sold in QLD. We are contacting the company direct to see if we can supply them for our community.

Herb of the Week: Shatavari

As more women and men are looking to support their hormonal and digestive health naturally, Shatavari has been a hero herb in the dispensary to boost testosterone naturally in women and men, easing digestion, adapting to stress, fertility and conception, pms/menopause, respiratory conditions due to its ability to sooth mucous membranes, and is abundant in phytoestrogens, offering a much safer way to balance healthy estrogen, support bone density, and menopausal symptoms.

Fertility and Testosterone:
Shatavari has a long and widespread history of being used for fertility and improved sexual performance for women and men.
Clinical studies conducted prove Shatavari increases s***m count, increases motility and volume and testosterone levels.

Fertility:
Studies showed women treated with Shatavari who had a history of difficulty conceiving, had a 25 percent higher chance of carrying baby to term.
Shatavari was shown to be comparable to fertility treatments.

Digestion:
Long history in Ayurveda and India for digestive issues, shown to balance acidity of stomach, kills bacteria present in digestive tract that causes colic, bloating and gas.
Its key use in India is for gastroparesis, shown to increase stomach emptying time, and reduce the persistent digestive pain associated with it alongside heartburn, nausea, diarrhea and vomiting. It works by restoring and increasing the protective mucous membranes, a key barrier that protect digestive cells from acid, toxins, bacteria, virus.
Shatavari juice was shown treat ulcers by directly interacting with mucous membranes to promote a healthy inflammatory response.

Stress
As an adaptogen many physicians use it to support patients during times of stress, reduce anxiety and stress related symptoms of hair loss, digestive upsets.

PCOS
Promotes hormonal balance by reducing insulin growth factor and insulin levels.

Breastfeeding and Lactation
Shatavari improves the quality and volume of breast milk, with scientists attributing this effect to it increasing prolactin levels.

Cautions.
As a diuretic it is cautioned with patients who suffer dehydration.
It also alters insulin levels therefore patients with diabetes must consult their physician before taking it.
Those taking lithium cannot take Shatavari.

I was lucky enough to see some back end reports on fish oil, most supermarket and pharmacy fish oil is rancid (rancidity factor is a measure of how rancid the oil is and thus determines if it needs to be triple coated to avoid it breaking down in the stomach to avoid it repeating on you)
other things often found is lead mercury plasticides, radioactive isotopes. Honestly you would be better off without it. That’s why we only have one brand of fish oil in clinic to support the body to resolve inflammation because these oils are a building block of you, and the last thing you want is plastics, poisons and metals in your cellular machinary.
