Day 1 – Start here

There’s been a lot of talk about recent NDIS changes, but the key message for families right now is simple: you can continue using your current plan and supports as usual. 💜

💙 More than your first OT job — a place to learn, grow and belong💙

Are you graduating in Occupational Therapy and looking for a paediatric role where you’ll be genuinely supported as you begin your career?

OT4You is looking for a Graduate Occupational Therapist to join our paediatric allied health team in Bowen, in the beautiful Whitsundays

We’re looking for someone who is caring, curious, reflective and ready to grow. Paediatric experience is warmly welcomed, but it isn’t essential.

If you’re looking for a supported start to your OT career with a team that will celebrate your wins, answer your questions and help you become the clinician you want to be, we’d love to hear from you.

💛 R U OK? Day at OT4You 💛

A little extra yellow, kindness and chocolate around OT4You today as we recognise R U OK? Day 🌻

Our beautiful Jess even surprised the team with yellow cupcakes, alongside a few “Have a break. Ask R U OK?” KitKats — a pretty perfect reminder that checking in doesn’t have to be complicated.

Sometimes it really can start with something as simple as:

“Are you OK?”

Then taking the time to stop, listen and genuinely be there.

We’re very grateful for a team that looks out for one another, celebrates the little things and understands how important connection really is. 💛

Ask R U OK? Any day, because a conversation could change a life.

🗨Hear from our Team | Kerryn on growing with OT4You 🗨

After more than five years with OT4You, Kerryn has seen both her own role and the practice continue to evolve.

For Kerryn, one of the things that has stood out is having the flexibility and support to build on her strengths, pursue areas of clinical interest and access professional development that is meaningful to her role.

Working as a rural OT has also meant developing strong relationships across the with families, schools, medical professionals and other and building confidence in the broad and varied role that rural practice brings.

More recently, Kerryn has moved into a senior and leadership role, while continuing to prioritise her own professional growth and clinician wellbeing.

We’re very proud of the contribution Kerryn has made to OT4You over the past five years and of the role she now plays in helping shape and support the team around her. 💚

Growth looks different at every stage of your career — and we want our team to keep finding new ways to learn, develop and thrive. 💞

💛 R U OK? Day 💛
Sometimes the most important thing we can do is simply notice, ask and listen.

At OT4You, connection and support are at the heart of what we do with our children, families, team and wider community. And today is a reminder that those connections matter beyond therapy too.

You don’t need to have all the answers.
You don’t need to fix the problem.
Sometimes you just need to ask:

“Are you OK?”

…and be genuinely ready to listen to the answer.

A conversation can make a difference. Check in with your people today — your family, your friends, your colleagues, or someone who has simply been a little quieter than usual.

💛 Ask R U OK?
👂 Listen
🤝 Encourage action
💬 Check in

Because sometimes the smallest conversation can mean more than we realise.

🗨Hear from our Team | Catherine on joining OT4You 🗨

When Catherine joined OT4You in January 2025, she was stepping into a new team and helping us strengthen the way we provide collaborative allied health support.

What stood out to her was how organised and supportive the onboarding process felt — allowing her to get set up quickly, understand the systems and start working with her clients without unnecessary delays.

For us, good onboarding is about making those first weeks feel clear, practical and welcoming, so clinicians can spend less time feeling unsure and more time focusing on what they do best — supporting children and families. 💞👪👨‍👩‍👧‍👦👨‍👩‍👧💞

Catherine’s experience is a great reminder that onboarding doesn’t need to be complicated to be effective. Sometimes, it’s simply about having the right systems, support and people in place from day one. 💚

🗨Hear from our Team | Jessie on finding her feet in Bowen🗨

For Jessie, joining OT4You in January 2025 was about much more than starting her first role as an Occupational Therapist.

She had also made the big move from New Zealand to Bowen, leaving behind the familiar and beginning a whole new chapter in a new country and community.

We love Jessie’s reflection on how important that broader support was during onboarding — not just learning the clinical role, but being helped to build connections, discover the local community and feel genuinely welcomed.

Creating that sense of belonging matters to us. We want our team members to feel supported both inside and outside of work, particularly when they have made a big move to join us.

It has been wonderful watching Bowen become home for Jessie while she continues to grow in confidence as an OT. 💚

Sometimes onboarding isn’t just about starting a new job — it’s about helping someone feel part of a new community too. 👭👫👫👫💞

🗨Hear from our Team | Jess on starting out as a new graduate🗨

When Jess joined OT4You in January 2025 as a new graduate Occupational Therapist, she expected those first months of clinical practice to feel a little overwhelming.

Instead, what stood out to her was the structure and support around her — regular mentoring, guidance when she needed it, a team she could comfortably ask questions of, and the opportunity to build confidence at a pace that felt right.

For us, onboarding is about more than learning systems and processes. It is about helping a new clinician feel supported enough to ask questions, try new things, reflect, learn and gradually find their own confidence as an OT.

We love hearing Jess reflect so positively on those early days — and even more, seeing how far she has come since then. 💚

Supporting new graduates well from day one matters — because confidence is built, not expected. ✨

Today we celebrate all the amazing dads, grandads, stepdads and father figures who play such an important role in the lives of children.
Thank you for the big things and the little things, for showing up, encouraging, supporting, playing, teaching, listening and believing. Your love, patience and presence help create the safe spaces children need to grow, learn and thrive.
Wishing all of the wonderful father figures in our OT4You community a very Happy Father’s Day. We hope your day is filled with plenty of love, laughs and special moments together. 💙
