Last Friday, the FSA team had the opportunity to attend the community program β€œAI for Business Owners”, connecting with business owners and professionals to learn more about the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence in everyday business operations.

Our GM, Hau Phan (Flora), joined the panel discussion and shared general examples of how AI can assist with routine business administration such as organising ideas, supporting planning and preparing first drafts with people remaining responsible for reviewing and finalising the work.

For FSA, the key message is that AI is a support tool, not a substitute for professional judgement, person-centred practice or decisions about supports. Any use of technology must be carefully considered and remain subject to privacy, confidentiality, information security, governance and existing compliance obligations.

It was also valuable to hear from Natalie Suleyman MP and other speakers about the changing role of AI and technology in Victorian businesses and communities.

Thank you to Mindtek, VietNews, VASIA and everyone involved in bringing this community learning opportunity together.

FSA will continue to learn and explore responsible, low-risk uses of technology while keeping people, quality, accountability and human oversight at the centre of our work.

πŸŽ‰ A Very Special Birthday Celebration! πŸŽ‚

It was such a wonderful day celebrating one of our amazing participants' birthdays! πŸ₯³ Our Case Managers surprised her with a special birthday celebration, and seeing the smile on her face made it all worthwhile.

We believe it's the little moments that make the biggest difference. We love celebrating our participants and creating meaningful memories together.

Happy Birthday! We hope your day was filled with love, laughter, and happiness. πŸ’œπŸŽˆ

A great Supported Independent Living (SIL) home is about more than just the houseit's about the people who share it.

That's why we take the time to thoughtfully match participants based on their personalities, interests, routines, and support needs. The right match helps create a welcoming home where participants can build friendships, enjoy activities together, support one another, and feel a true sense of belonging.

πŸ’™ We're committed to creating homes where every participant feels safe, respected, and supported to live as independently as possible.

Every new participant who joins First Support Australia marks the beginning of a new chapter-and we never take that responsibility lightly.

Last week, we welcomed a new participant into one of our Supported Independent Living (SIL) home The first few days are about so much more than moving into a new house. They're about helping someone feel safe, comfortable, and confident as they settle into a place they can truly call home.

Behind the scenes, our team works quickly to make that transition as smooth as possible. Michael, our HR Manager, ensures our new support workers are onboarded promptly and are fully trained in our SIL house protocols, communication processes, and participant-centred approach. This means our participants receive consistent, high-quality support from day one.

At First Support Australia, we believe great support starts with great people, clear communication, and genuine care. It's not just about providing services-it's about building trust, creating meaningful connections, and helping people live with greater independence and confidence.

πŸ’™ We care because our community matters.

πŸ“Proudly supporting the Western Suburbs of Melbourne, where our community is our home.

Today one of our participants built his lego set.

Piece by piece. With patience. With focus.

And when he placed that last piece

the look on his face said everything.

This is what independence looks like at First Support Australia.

We don't just support our participants.

We show up for every moment that matters. πŸ’š

A smooth transition doesn't start on move-in day - it starts long before. 🏑

Behind every successful move into SDA/SIL accommodation is a Case Manager working quietly in the background, weeks and sometimes months in advance.

At First Support Australia, our Case Managers work closely with hospitals, allied health professionals, and families to ensure every detail is in place before day one - from care plans and equipment needs to support schedules tailored to the individual.

Because the goal isn't just a move. It's a transition that feels safe, supported, and seamless. πŸ’š

Great support never stops evolving - and neither do we. 🌱

At First Support Australia, we believe that quality care starts with continuous learning. Our team is committed to ongoing training because the people we support deserve nothing less than best-practice, up-to-date care.

From new NDIS guidelines to the latest in person-centred support techniques, we invest in our team so they can invest fully in you.

Because when our people grow, the support we provide grows stronger too. πŸ’ͺ

βœ… Skilled. βœ… Trained. βœ… Always learning.

That's the First Support Australia difference.

Today one of our participants connected his WiFi by himself for the first time. πŸ’š
To some people that might seem small.
To us - and to him - it was everything.
This is what we mean when we say we support independence.
Not just the big moments.
Every single one.

πŸ’™ Men's Mental Health Week πŸ’™

Looking after your mental wellbeing doesn't have to be complicated. Small actions each day can make a big difference.

This Men's Mental Health Week, we're sharing 5 simple ways men can support their mental wellbeing:
βœ”οΈ Talk to someone
βœ”οΈ Stay active
βœ”οΈ Connect with mates
βœ”οΈ Take time to recharge
βœ”οΈ Ask for help when you need it

Remember, reaching out for support is a sign of strength, not weakness. Let's continue to check in on one another, start meaningful conversations, and create a community where everyone feels supported.

πŸ’¬ Which of these helps your mental wellbeing the most? Let us know in the comments below.
