Last week, we had the honour of celebrating Mother’s Day with some of our carers and participants.

It was such a beautiful day filled with connection and appreciation as we came together to celebrate the incredible women in our community. During the event, we also enjoyed a lovely flower-making activity, creating special moments together. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the day so special. ✨

Today is about celebrating all the amazing mothers and carers who do so much for the people around them 💐💚

At First Support Australia, we see the care, strength, patience, and love that so many mothers and carers give every day. Today, we simply want to say thank you and celebrate you.

Wishing you a Mother’s Day filled with happiness, appreciation, and special moments with your loved ones.

Health means something different to everyone 💚 We asked one of our participants what health means to her and honestly - we loved her answer. Everyone sees health differently and that's what makes it so beautiful

🎨 This is what a Wednesday afternoon looks like for us.

Clay making is more than just an activity it’s an opportunity to build confidence, encourage creativity, and support participants in exploring their abilities in a safe and welcoming environment.

Moments like these reflect what person-centred care is all about: creating meaningful experiences, encouraging independence, and making sure every individual feels supported, valued, and included.

This is the kind of support we are proud to provide every day. 💛

What an incredible day!

Last week, we had the privilege of being part of the Disability Expo in Ballarat - and what an experience it was!

It was so meaningful to connect with the community, hear firsthand about the services people are looking for, and have real conversations about how First Support Australia can make a difference in people's lives.

We also loved the opportunity to talk openly about the NDIS and the latest changes because we know how important it is for people to feel informed and supported through it all.

And to the other providers we met along the way it was wonderful to connect, collaborate, and build those relationships within the sector. 🤝

Days like this remind us exactly why we do what we do. We absolutely cannot wait to be back next year! 💛

Learning everyday technology can open doors to greater independence, confidence, and connection.

At First Support Australia, we support participants in building practical digital skills from using phones and tablets to navigating apps, online communication, and everyday technology.

These small steps can make a big difference in helping participants stay connected, learn new skills, and build confidence in daily life.

He planned it. He prepped it. He made it himself. 👨‍🍳✨
This is what person-centred support looks like.

We’re here to walk alongside our participants - not in front of them.

At First Support Australia, we focus on building confidence, independence, and real-life skills 💛

It’s The Unexpected Moments That Test How Prepared We Really Are

Today at First Support Australia, a fire alarm went off at the office. While it turned out to be a false alarm, our team responded as if it were real, moving quickly, staying calm, and following every step of our emergency procedures.

In moments like these, there’s no time to second guess. What matters is clarity, teamwork, and the confidence to act. Because when it comes to safety, practice is what builds confidence. Regular fire drills like this ensure that everyone understands their responsibilities, knows where to go, and how to support both colleagues and participants in a safe and orderly way. They create a shared understanding that safety is everyone’s responsibility every single day.

Capturing these moments allows us to pause, reflect, and continuously improve. We look at what worked well, where we can do better, and how we can strengthen our response as a team, so that each time, we are even more prepared than before.

For us, safety is a mindset we practise, together, every day.

March Was Filled With Meaningful Moments That Continue To Shape The Journey Of Our Participants And Our Team

This month, our team had the opportunity to connect with the wider community by taking part in the Thrive Together - Melbourne 2026 Expo and the Brimbank Disability, Seniors and Carers Expo 2026. These events allowed us to share what we do, learn from others in the sector, and strengthen our commitment to supporting more individuals and families.

Back at our group homes, Easter brought a special kind of joy: simple moments of connection, shared laughter, and a strong sense of community. Beyond the celebrations, these moments created space for belonging. They allowed participants to feel part of something familiar and meaningful, where relationships are nurtured and everyday moments become something to look forward to.

We also celebrated Easter across our wider team, with dedicated moments for both our support workers and admin team. These celebrations were a way to show our appreciation, recognising the effort, care, and commitment each person brings to the work we do every day.

There’s more to come this April, follow along so you don’t miss it.
