This is one worth saving. 🌊

For some people, a beach trip is towels, sunscreen and out the door.

For others, it takes a bit more planning. Where can we park? Is there matting? Is a beach wheelchair available? How close can we get to the water? What support will make the day easier?

Across the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast, there are accessible beach options that can help more people enjoy the coast in a way that works for them.

Less sitting it out. More enjoying the fresh sea air, sunshine and good company.

Check the location, availability and access details before you go, then pack the towels and make a day of it.

A little puppy. A lot of smiles. 🐶

Our latest Participant Day came with some very special furry guests, and honestly, the photos say it all.

There were cuddles, laughs, gentle moments and plenty of happy faces as everyone got the chance to meet the puppies.

An extra special thank you to our Support Worker Cathy for bringing her puppies in and sharing all that cuteness with our Beacon community.

Participant Days are all about connection, fun and giving people something to look forward to, and this one definitely brought the cute factor.

Would you line up for puppy cuddles?

Not quite soup weather, not quite summer BBQ season, so this one is justtttt right!

This month’s At Home Challenge sits right in the middle with an Easy Caprese Pasta Salad that is fresh, colourful and simple to make. 🥗

For the pasta salad, you’ll need:
🩵 450g bow-tie pasta
🩵 15 cherry tomatoes, halved
🩵 500g fresh mozzarella pearls
🩵 12 fresh basil leaves

For the balsamic dressing, you’ll need:
🩵 3 tbsp olive oil
🩵 1.5 tbsp balsamic vinegar
🩵 1 garlic clove, minced
🩵 ¼ tsp Italian seasoning
🩵 Salt and pepper to taste
😥 Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes

To make the pasta salad:
Cook the pasta, mix the dressing, add the pasta salad ingredients to a large bowl, then pour the dressing over slowly and toss gently. Pop it in the fridge for 30 to 60 minutes before serving so the flavours can come together.

Try it at home and post a photo of your dish in the comments. We’d love to see your version.

Not everyone wants the same kind of day out, and that is exactly why this month’s list is so good!

September has a bit of everything.

🩵 A bush walk and BBQ for the outdoorsy types.
🩵 Golf for anyone keen to try something new.
🩵 A disco for the dancers.
🩵 Art and craft for the creative ones.
🩵 A movement event for people who want to get active.
🩵 And an expo for anyone wanting to explore services, supports and community options.

Some activities are big and social. Some are more relaxed. Some are active. Some are creative.

This is such a beautiful message from Sharon about the care our team provided for Seth while she and her husband travelled to England for their son’s wedding.

We are so grateful she allowed us to share her words in full:

“Here's my testimonial for the great care the girls all gave Seth:

Our 25 year old son is completely dependent, but my husband and I wanted to go to the wedding of one of our other son's - in England.
We have never both been away from Seth, always one of us being at home with him, but we both desperately wanted to be there to see our son get married. Christy and the care team worked with me to make sure that Seth would be provided 24 hour live-in care in our own home, with his beautiful team of support workers.

Lea, Jade, Krissy and Renee spent many weeks leading up to our trip making sure they knew every little thing about Seth's care and routine, how to make him settle down for his night time sleep, how to keep him occupied and entertained and happy at home, taking him out for walks, and for days out. The RN made sure that all of Seth's medications were given to him on time and that everything was ready and in place for any PRN medications, like panadol. So, everything was organised to the last detail.

BUT what we couldn't guess was that Seth would be looked after in such a kind, caring and beautiful way. Each of his support workers have known him for a long time, but honestly, they took such good care of him it was like we had left him with family. I wonder if he missed us at all”

Thank you, Sharon, for trusting our team with Seth’s support and for sharing such kind words. We are so proud of Christy, Lea, Jade, Krissy, Renee and everyone involved. 💙

Looking for a little extra support for Mum, Dad or someone you love? 🏡

Beacon Support provides personalised aged care support to help older Australians live safely, comfortably and independently at home.

That might mean help with personal care, household tasks, getting out into the community, social support, nursing care or support with everyday activities.

Every person’s needs are different, and the right support should fit around their life, routines and what matters most to them.

If you or someone you love has an Aged Care Package and would like to talk through your support options, we’d be happy to help.

Who doesn't love a puppy cuddle? 🐶💙

Participant Day is coming up on the 27th at Beacon Support Head Office, and this month we have some very special furry guests joining us.

One of our clients has already had a sneak peek, and the puppy cuddles were clearly a hit. 🐶

Sooo cute!!

Expect plenty of smiles, cuddles, wagging tails and a chance to spend time together with fellow participants.

Participant Day is all about getting together, sharing experiences and having some fun. This month, our puppy visitors are making it even harder to resist. 🐾

We would love to see you there.

Support often makes the biggest difference in the everyday moments. 💙

NDIA data shows that for NDIS participants aged 15 to 24, positive daily living outcomes increased from 62% to 78% after time in the Scheme.

That can mean support with meals, routines, personal care, home tasks, confidence and the practical parts of daily life.

For some people, the small wins are actually the big ones: making lunch, getting ready, trying a new routine, feeling safer at home or having more say in how the day looks.

For anyone who loves getting their hands dirty, working with tools and that unmistakable smell of an engine bay… this one is worth a look. 🔧

All Ability Garage is a supported workshop space in Caboolture where NDIS participants can get involved in vehicle projects, DIY builds and practical automotive learning in a real garage setting.

These photos have it all: cars on the hoist, engines being worked on, tools out on the bench, upholstery repairs, a driving simulator and plenty of people getting stuck into something hands-on.

It is the kind of place for people who enjoy figuring out how things work, learning by doing and getting a bit of grease on their hands along the way.

Huge thanks to the All Ability Garage team for sharing these photos with us.
