Life happens, we understand! If you’re unable to attend your appointment at Brighton Regional Doctors, we kindly ask that you call or cancel online as soon as possible.

Please note there is a $50 fee for did not attend appointments.

We are proud to be a collection point for the Share the Dignity Drive, which has been running throughout this month.

The Dignity Drive helps support people experiencing period poverty by collecting essential period products for those doing it tough in our community. Donations of unopened items such as pads, tampons, menstrual cups, period underwear and incontinence products are greatly appreciated.

If you’re visiting the clinic, you’re welcome to bring a donation and place it in our collection box. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps provide dignity, choice and care to someone in need.

August 17-21 is Bullying No Way Week, a time to take a stand against bullying in all its forms. At Brighton Regional Doctors, we believe everyone has the right to feel safe, respected, and supported — in our schools, workplaces, and communities.

We’re proud to support this important cause and encourage conversations about respect, kindness, inclusion and creating safe spaces for all ages. Did you know that around 1 in 45 Australians are currently living with a brain injury? And surprisingly, almost 3 in 4 of those affected are under the age of 65.

As we look ahead to Brain Injury Awareness Week (17–23 August), we want to share this year’s incredibly meaningful theme from Synapse Australia: “Many pathways, one community.”

No two brain injuries are exactly alike. They can happen in an instant—from a fall, a sporting impact, a road or e-scooter accident, a stroke, or an illness. Because every brain is unique, every recovery journey, daily challenge, and support pathway looks completely different.

But while the pathways may be different, we travel them together.
Here at Brighton Regional Doctors, we are proud to be part of your support community. Whether you are living with a brain injury, caring for a loved one, or simply wanting to understand how to make our community more inclusive and supportive, we are here for you.

Let's work together to increase visibility, share lived experiences, and ensure no one walks their pathway alone.

We're excited to welcome Dr Paria Aghababaie Babaki, our newest Non-VR GP, to the team at Brighton Regional Doctors.

Dr Paria brings a wealth of experience in general practice, having completed her medical degree at one of Iran's leading universities before caring for patients in both rural and metropolitan communities. After relocating to Australia in 2023, she spent two years providing comprehensive GP care in South Australia and has now made Tasmania her new home.

Passionate about caring for people at every stage of life, Dr Paria enjoys all aspects of general practice, with particular interests in family medicine, women's health, mental health, preventive care, and the management of chronic conditions. She also performs a range of procedures, including Implanon® insertions and removals, iron infusions, minor skin procedures and biopsies, and medical termination of pregnancy.
Known for her warm, compassionate approach, Dr Paria believes every patient deserves to feel heard, respected, and supported. She takes the time to listen carefully, explain treatment options clearly, and work together with her patients to achieve the best possible health outcomes.

Outside the clinic, Dr Paria enjoys travelling with her partner, exploring Tasmania's beautiful natural landscapes, and unwinding with a good detective novel.

We're delighted to welcome Dr Finn, our newest GP Registrar, to the team at Brighton Regional Doctors.

Originally from Tasmania, Dr Finn is passionate about providing high-quality, compassionate care and is excited to be looking after patients in the Brighton community.

A graduate of the University of Tasmania, Dr Finn has gained valuable experience at the Royal Hobart Hospital, spending much of his training in the Emergency Department. He has also completed rotations in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, and General Medicine, giving him a broad range of clinical experience.

Dr Finn enjoys all aspects of General Practice and looks forward to getting to know his patients, building long-term relationships, and supporting the health and wellbeing of our local community.

We’re Proud to Be a Collection Point for the August Dignity Drive!

At BRD we recognise the importance of dignity, choice and care for everyone in our community. Share the Dignity is an Australian charity working to end period poverty by collecting and distributing period products to women, girls and anyone who menstruates who are doing it tough, including those experiencing homelessness, domestic violence or financial hardship.

One of their key initiatives is the Dignity Drive, held twice a year in March and August. During these drives, Share the Dignity collects unopened period products such as pads, tampons, menstrual cups, period un**es and incontinence aids at collection points nationwide, including Woolworths supermarkets and registered community locations. These products are then distributed through partner charities to ensure people in need have access to essential items they might otherwise go without.

Period poverty can force people to make impossible choices between basic needs. By supporting the Dignity Drive through donations or by encouraging others to contribute, we can help ensure no one has to face their period without the products they need.

As a GP training practice, it is always bittersweet to see our registrars move on as they continue their journey towards Fellowship. While we are sad to say goodbye, we are incredibly proud of all they have achieved and excited to see them take the next step in becoming independent General Practitioners.

We would like to thank Dr Cody Felmingham for his dedication and contribution to our practice and community, and we wish him every success and happiness in the next chapter of his career. Congratulations, Dr Cody, and all the very best for the future!
