☀️ NEW SKIN GP SERVICE AT BRIGHTON REGIONAL DOCTORS ☀️

We are excited to welcome Dr Ayush Srivastava, a friendly and compassionate GP with a special interest in skin cancer medicine and skin procedures, to Brighton Regional Doctors.

📅 Every second Wednesday from 14 October 2026

Dr Ayush has been providing skin cancer treatment services across the Greater Hobart region for more than 10 years. Before moving into general practice, he worked across a number of surgical specialties in Tasmania, developing valuable surgical and procedural skills.

He completed his GP training through James Cook University in Queensland and has undertaken extensive additional training in skin cancer medicine and surgery. He is experienced in skin cancer assessment and management, including complex skin excisions and procedures.

Dr Ayush is passionate about patient-centred care and takes a comprehensive approach to achieving the best possible outcome, with patient comfort a priority throughout assessment and treatment.

• Advanced Certificate in Skin Cancer Surgery

Standard Skin Consultation – $125
15 minutes | Examination of 1–3 spots
Medicare rebate: $45.05*

Long Skin Consultation – $225
30 minutes | Examination of 4–6 spots
Medicare rebate: $87.10*

Skin GP consultations and procedures are privately billed, with applicable Medicare rebates available. Fees for procedures will vary depending on the procedure required and will be discussed with you beforehand.

📞 Appointments must be booked by calling Brighton Regional Doctors.

Cancellation Policy: We require at least 24 hours' notice if you are unable to attend so that we can offer your appointment to another patient. Failure to attend a confirmed appointment without the required notice will incur a $50 non-attendance fee.

This National Carers Week, we recognise and thank the more than 3 million Australians who provide unpaid care and support to a family member or friend.

Our staff will be wearing fun scrubs on October 20th to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Patients are welcome to also donate should they like, just talk to our friendly reception team.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) takes place every October. The aim of the BCAM is to shine a light on the devastating impact breast cancer has on thousands of Australians each day.

Every year over 21,000 people in Australia (including around 200 men) will be diagnosed with breast cancer.
Every day 58 people in Australia will be diagnosed with breast cancer.

Every year over 3,300 people in Australia (including 33 men) will die from breast cancer. That’s someone’s mother, sister, friend or family member whose life has been tragically cut short because of the disease.

Although the five-year survival rate has increased from 76% to 92% (and rising) since 1994 thanks to research, there is still progress to be made to stop deaths from breast cancer. By targeting the remaining 8% who don’t live past this survival rate, NBCF’s goal is to reach Zero Deaths from breast cancer.

R U OK? Day is a reminder to check in with the people around us, friends, family, colleagues and neighbours and to take the time to genuinely listen.

Sometimes the people who seem to be doing just fine may be finding things difficult behind the scenes. A conversation, a listening ear and knowing that someone cares can make a real difference.

You don’t need to have all the answers. Start by asking: “Are you OK?”
And if they’re not, take the time to listen, encourage them to seek support, and stay connected.

If you experience sneezing, a runny or blocked nose, itchy or watery eyes, or a scratchy throat, seasonal allergies could be the cause.

A few simple strategies can help manage your symptoms:

• Keep windows closed when pollen levels are high.
• Shower and change clothes after spending time outdoors to remove pollen.
• Avoid mowing lawns or being around freshly cut grass if it triggers your symptoms.
• Wear sunglasses outdoors to help protect your eyes from pollen.
• Talk to your pharmacist or GP about treatments that may help, including antihistamines, nasal sprays or eye drops.

If your symptoms are persistent, severe or interfering with your sleep and everyday life, it's worth speaking with your GP. There may be other causes for your symptoms, and a personalised treatment plan can help you enjoy spring with fewer interruptions.
