Here I was thinking I was doing all the right things… but these 5 habits were secretly killing my ability to get results…
1. Over doing the liquid calories
Never accounting for things like smoothies, juices, coffees with add ins, drinks that I would drink and completely forget about because it didn’t fill me up. Without realising these would be increasing my overall cal intake by 200-500 calories per day.
2. Under eating veg
I would go heavy on other foods like the meat, rice, pastas etc but not much Veg.This made calories hard to control.
I switched to making veggies half of my meal. I stay fuller but ate less. Same meals, just smarter and more aligned with my goals.
3. Sitting around all day
Not moving enough was impacting my results more than I realised.
I started paying attention to how much I was walking. Started moving an extra 30-70 minutes per day and my steps increased easily without that much extra effort. My energy improved and my cravings lowered.
4. Exercising purely for the intention of weight loss
Looking at any exercise as a tool to lose weight instead of a tool to improve my strength, endurance, stamina and muscle composition.
Once I changed my perspective on exercise/training it became less or a chore that I HAD to do to lose “weight” into an enjoyable hobby I GOT to do which constantly challenged me and improved mental health and my overall health and wellbeing.
5. Eating “healthy”
I told myself eating ONLY foods that were labeled as “healthy” meant that I was going to drop fat. All it did was increase my cravings because I told myself I couldn’t have anything that I ACTUALLY wanted and led to overeating more days than not plus no control with food.
Once I added structure with a protein target, meal times and consistency with food progress became much easier and fat loss became 100x more enjoyable.
