Building my dream one step at a time ✨

After coming away from a career as a paramedic and nurse, I have been building a business that I am truly my most happy.

Weight and confidence took up a HUGE chunk of my life. It drained me as a person and I really didn’t know who I was without labelling myself as “overweight” or waking up every day looking in the mirror and picking myself apart.
Being able to help other people take control of their health, discover their potential, their strength and their confidence is a passion I never knew would feel like this.

This gym is the building blocks to build this business to reach and help as many women as I can 🫶🏼

People get INCREDIBLE results when working with a coach.
With any coach, you are not only investing in yourself, but you are entering a partnership. You can be given a plan and the map that to get to the destination, with the coach is sitting in the passenger seat next to you.
But you have to be willing to drive according to the map and listen to your coach. No short cuts. No alternative routes. No driving off cliffs 😂

Here I was thinking I was doing all the right things… but these 5 habits were secretly killing my ability to get results…

1. Over doing the liquid calories
Never accounting for things like smoothies, juices, coffees with add ins, drinks that I would drink and completely forget about because it didn’t fill me up. Without realising these would be increasing my overall cal intake by 200-500 calories per day.

2. Under eating veg
I would go heavy on other foods like the meat, rice, pastas etc but not much Veg.This made calories hard to control.
I switched to making veggies half of my meal. I stay fuller but ate less. Same meals, just smarter and more aligned with my goals.

3. Sitting around all day
Not moving enough was impacting my results more than I realised.
I started paying attention to how much I was walking. Started moving an extra 30-70 minutes per day and my steps increased easily without that much extra effort. My energy improved and my cravings lowered.

4. Exercising purely for the intention of weight loss
Looking at any exercise as a tool to lose weight instead of a tool to improve my strength, endurance, stamina and muscle composition.

Once I changed my perspective on exercise/training it became less or a chore that I HAD to do to lose “weight” into an enjoyable hobby I GOT to do which constantly challenged me and improved mental health and my overall health and wellbeing.

5. Eating “healthy”
I told myself eating ONLY foods that were labeled as “healthy” meant that I was going to drop fat. All it did was increase my cravings because I told myself I couldn’t have anything that I ACTUALLY wanted and led to overeating more days than not plus no control with food.
Once I added structure with a protein target, meal times and consistency with food progress became much easier and fat loss became 100x more enjoyable.

The truth is, you have to be willing to go through the whole process to actually make changes into who you wanna be.
The process isn’t always pretty.
It can be uncomfortable.
It can be challenging.
Your mindset will fight you and you have to be willing to be stronger than the little voices telling you that you can’t do it.

As someone who has lost over 30kg naturally, fat loss signs can be happening without you realising. Here are things to look out for which are signs fat loss is happening in the background 👇🏻

1. You are probably feeling hungry.
This isn’t because something is wrong. This is a good sign your body is simply adjusting to the lower calorie intake and is looking to make up the energy deficiency. We want it to use your fat preserves as the energy source. So keep going and ride the small hunger waves.

2. You notice you feel more tired here and there.
Your body is shifting for how it is using fuel and trying to preserve some energy so it doesn’t have to use fat preserves. This is only temporary and it’s important you still keep moving.

3. You’re going to the bathroom more often.
Your body is breaking down fat cells to use for energy. Water is a by product which causes more urination.

1. Your clothes are fitting better.
Even if the scales haven’t moved yet, your body composition is already starting to change, the scales just haven’t caught up.
If the scales stall or go up slightly this is where most people quit!!

This is almost always temporary water retention and internal changes happen right before real fat loss happens!!
STOP QUITTING HERE!

Fat loss doesn’t happen instantly, but that doesn’t mean progress isn’t happening…

The key to fat loss is staying consistent and not quitting just before things are about to shift.
