At EKCO Hand Therapy, we use the Wibbi app to make hand therapy programs easier, more accessible, and more convenient for our patients to follow at home.

Through the Wibbi app, patients can:
• Access their personalised exercise program anytime
• Watch clear video demonstrations of each exercise
• Track progress and stay consistent with rehabilitation
• Receive updated programs directly from their therapist
• Feel more confident managing their recovery between appointments

Whether recovering from an injury or surgery, managing arthritis, or dealing with ongoing hand pain, having guided support at your fingertips can make a significant difference in achieving the best outcomes.

Our goal is to make rehabilitation simple, supportive, and tailored to each individual — because consistency plays a key role in recovery.

Winter weather can increase joint stiffness, pain, and swelling, making everyday tasks such as opening jars, gripping objects, typing, or even getting dressed more challenging.

At EKCO Hand Therapy, our experienced hand therapists support people living with arthritis through personalised treatment plans aimed at reducing pain, improving movement, and helping them stay active and independent throughout winter.

Treatment may include:
• Custom splinting for joint support and pain relief
• Gentle exercises to improve mobility, strength, and stability
• Pain management strategies
• Joint protection techniques and activity modification education

Early intervention can make a significant difference in maintaining hand function and reducing flare-ups. If winter is making arthritis harder for your patients to manage, contact Ekco Hand Therapy today to help them get the support they need.

Is your patient experiencing ongoing wrist or thumb pain?

At EKCO Hand Therapy, we can create a custom mould of your patient’s arm, which is then used alongside Terra Bredy at LeatherWorks Splinting to produce a durable, comfortable leather splint.

Designed to support the hand, wrist, or thumb during everyday activities, these splints help reduce pain linked to a range of chronic upper limb conditions. Leather splints are long-lasting, available in various colours, and gradually mould to the shape of the hand for optimal comfort and support.

EKCO Hand Therapy is incredibly proud to support our EKCO C*D Co-ordinator and Accredited Hand Therapist, Anna Wishink!

Anna recently volunteered her time and specialist skills at the Home for Aged Care and Handicapped and the Mahan Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Melghat, India.

Working alongside a multidisciplinary team of plastic surgeons, nurses, and doctors, Anna provided post-operative splinting and rehabilitation services to help improve outcomes for local patients in need.

This kind of work truly reflects Anna’s dedication, compassion, and commitment to making a difference beyond the clinic.

A huge thank you, Anna, for sharing your exceptional hand therapy skills and giving back to the global community — we are so proud of you!

We would also like to sincerely acknowledge and thank Performance Health for their generous donation of thermoplastic, which supported this important work.

We are excited to welcome our new Occupational Therapist, Anjo Van Heerden, who is completing the fellowship program with EKCO Hand Therapy.

Anjo chose to work at EKCO Hand Therapy because of the supportive and incredibly experienced team, as well as its reputation for supporting new clinicians through the fellowship program. This program provides an opportunity to learn through a structured yet self-paced training program and mentorship.

She loves hand therapy because it brings together problem-solving, learning about the body, creativity, and working closely with people. It is incredibly rewarding to help people get back to the things that matter most to them and to see the progress they make.

Prior to joining EKCO Hand Therapy, Anjo worked as a generalist OT, with experience in upper limb rehabilitation, home modifications, assistive technology prescription, paediatrics, and mental health.
She looks forward to working with you soon.

The EKCO Hand Therapy South Brisbane team recently hosted a fantastic CPD afternoon 🙌

We were thrilled to welcome Dr Kevin Huang, who delivered an insightful presentation on the biomechanics, assessment, and treatment of midcarpal instability.

Our very own Rachel Roxborough also shared her Australian Hand Therapy Association poster presentation, exploring the impact of soft wrist-based orthoses on proprioception and mechanical stability — a great discussion starter!

It was an informative afternoon filled with learning, collaboration, and great peer discussion, and it was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended.
