The truth about your “healthy” choices, and why they’re keeping you stuck ⤵️

This is not about labelling foods as ‘good’ or ‘bad’, or that you shouldn’t eat them.

This is about context, and about knowing what’s on your plate so you can choose it with awareness.

If fat loss is part of your goal in your 40’s, some of the ’healthiest’ foods can hinder your efforts because they quickly push you over your daily energy needs (things that are high in dietary fats), or don’t keep you full for long (foods high in refined carbs), so then you go hunting for the next thing.

The women I work with who see the most success with their progress are eating foods high in protein & fibre, with plenty of volume on their plate.
We moderate dietary fat intake to lower overall calories, without impacting food volume.

Weight loss isn’t a behaviour, your habits are what move you towards the goal… but it is a science… and I help with both of those inside my 1:1 coaching (🔗 in bio).

I promise you, you don’t have to be perfect to see progress… you just need to stop starting over.

Here’s what I do, and don’t do ⤵️

No rabbit food - we want filling & satisfying meals

No cooking two separate dinners - this is a hard no. If it’s extra effort, it won’t stick

No new meal plan every Sunday night. We rinse & repeat to save mental load.

What I do instead:

🌮 Choose meals that I know my family will eat & also fit my macros

🍫 Include my favourite soul foods, like chocolate & biccies.

🥔 Aim to hit targets for carbs, protein & fats each day, instead of just eating less without a plan

🍕 Make space for family rituals, like Friday night pizza.

The theme, if you swipe through, is repetition.

I stick with meals I actually enjoy and rinse and repeat, alternating the spices and sauces so it doesn’t get boring.

This is what a sustainable fat loss plan for a Mum in her 40’s that will actually stick looks like.

It’s not just how I eat either - it’s how I program meals for the Mum who’s work with me and help them shift weight that they thought would never budge.

“When do you even find the time?” I get asked this a lot.

To be honest, I don’t find it; there’s no spare Sunday sitting empty in my week.

What I do is take the small moments that are already there, and set up my kitchen so the healthy choice is the easy one.

That looks like;
- Time when the kids watch a bit of TV to bake a bunch of snacks

- I rely on my slow cooker A LOT

- Meals are simple and repeatable. I am realistic about the season that I am in with young kids, so plating up a protein / veggies / starch option is absolutely good enough!

- I pretty much never cook for one meal, I’ll cook 1.5kg of beef mince into a sauce that can be used across multiple dishes.

- I’m in my overnight oats era right now, I use the same base recipe and alternate the fruits so I don’t get sick of it.

None of it is a new complicated recipe or hours in the kitchen each week.

It comes down to systems that remove the friction, so eating well stops relying on how you’re feeling that day.

That’s part of what we work on inside ReclaimHer.

So that taking care of yourself doesn’t feel like an ‘extra’ thing to add to your list.

It’s the habits and behaviour change that actually make healthy eating stick around your busy life.

If you’re doing everything “right” and still feel exhausted, foggy and stuck, swipe through.

It feels so frustrating that you’re reducing your portions, killing it at your cardio classes, and trying all the hormone-balancing supplements in the hope something will shift the energy and the weight.

I promise you, your body isn’t trying to work against you - it’s actually responding exactly how it should with inputs it’s being given.

It’s not about overhauling everything you’re doing (who’s got time for that?!), it’s about doing the things that really work for this season.

I just unpacked the whole picture in my free masterclass, Energised & Empowered, and the replay is up for a few more days.

💬 Comment REPLAY and I’ll send it straight to you.

And if you’re ready to do something about it, this is the exact work we go deep on inside ReclaimHer, my group program for mums (doors just open).

Start with the replay & DM me to chat ☺️
