I have studied and studied women’s form in all sorts of venues in all types of attire. I have clothed women from size 8 to 32 and there is one thing that I am firmly convinced of is that one design like ‘one size fitting all’ is a falsehood. What works for size ten does not necessarily work for a larger size, unless certain adjustments are made. These adjustments dear reader is what will gain you a younger slimmer appearance without pill popping, calorie counting, or a knife wielded. In fact, it can happen quiet painlessly in 30 minutes.
You no doubt like me have a favorite few clothes that make you feel great and people comment on how good you look, even ask you if you have lost some pounds, when you know you have not. Have you ever wondered why these particular garments work? As you read through the following pages you might just recognize a feature of one of those loved garments and see why they became your favorite clothing
Diets have been for years a subject of much discussion around me whether I liked it or not. Kindly people would tell me of the latest one they had heard of. Most likely I had heard of it too, but I grimly hear them out to the end. Usually these helpful souls would finish up by saying in a consoling tone. “But you always look good anyway” I take the “anyway” to mean despite your size, (20).
Gradually I realized why I created this impression; it was because I sewed my own garments or altered all that I bought. STOP don’t throw this away just because I mentioned sewing. What I am going to share with you takes very little skill with a sewing machine or none at all but a needle and cotton in some cases and in others just the knowledge of what you are going to be seeking. You can then ask the store to do an alteration for you or go to a tailor who can make the changes. They are not seriously major things, but mainly a matter of balance. Colour too is important, but this publication does not deal in depth with colour this is about BALANCE and ILLUSION how to get it, what to look for and how to create it.
Have you clothed yourself when you could find them in your size, in the standard apparel of jeans and tee shirt and wondered why you were not happy with the result?
For years I have disguised my size by sleuth of line not just on the clothes I designed and made for myself but in the old standbys of jeans and tees plus all the other garments in a wardrobe.
The Clothes Diet will show you how with a little practice and a few minutes per garment you can look two dress sizes smaller.
First, I will deal with the base of your dressing that is the garment that shapes your body before you dress it. Bra shapes and the sort of shape you should be looking for to hang your clothes on. The popular tee shirt will give you a good understanding of what you can do to garments already in your wardrobe to bring them forward to the popular area of your closet. I will show you how to pick or change shirts, skirts, jackets, blouses and evening and bridal wear. What will you do about accessories, hair shapes and shoes? All of these will be discussed in further chapters.
Now your dream of everything in your wardrobe ready to be slipped into and making you look slimmer, happier and ready to enjoy life to the full can actually happen.
Knowing what to look for or what to change in your present wardrobe and knowing why you could not shake that chunky image will mean that you will have a lift to your image that will astound you. Who wants to get dressed in front of the mirror, put on and take of garment after garment only because nothing looks good or they do not match one another, certainly I never did? Once you get the hang of it you will find it is so easy and takes no time at all in fact less than before with all that trying on and not finding what you are happy with. Gone are the days of a growing pile of clothes rejected while you look for a top or a dress that you feel looks good on you.
