Daarhi means 'beard' in Hindi and is inspired by the roadside barbers on the streets of Mumbai.�
The aroma of classic shaving cream mingles with the sweet aromas of nearby chai and paan vendors.

Top notes
Bergamot, Lime, Hints of Chai Spices, Paan (Betel Leaf)

An ode to the eclectic gentleman of a bygone era of refinement, The Orientalist is an arresting blend of resins and aromatics.

The perfume opens with succulent notes of oranges and cardamom. At its heart are resinous woods and incense warmed by a whisper of clove.

The perfume settles into an ambery base reminiscent of suave powdered and scented dandies of the early 20th century.

Refined and elegant, yet dangerous and seductive, this initial offering from Kirrin James harkens to a mysterious yet exotic bygone era of suave masculinity.

Almost finished the new batch of Orientalist. There will only be about 1 litre - and as before, I can’t guarantee a remake. Anticipating to make it available in 35ml spray bottles.

On the left is the remnants of the previous batch, and on the right is my new batch tester. Scent is very similar and colour is ever so slightly darker 😄

Working on a remake of Orientalist - my premiere composition back in early 2020. I was hesitant to remake the perfume if I was unable to source the same exciting materials. Fortunately, I have been able collect most of the same ingredients again.

Orientalist features a massive amount of premium myrrh, frankincense from four regions and other more special spice absolutes - as opposed to the regular steam distilled essential oils (nutmeg, ginger, cardamom).

I look forward to seeing how this batch turns out in the near future. Working on many other new releases as well. Step by step!

Sub Luna (Extrait de Parfum) is one of my personal favourite creations inspired by the song 'The Piper' by ABBA. Moonlit apricot and milky spices make way to a hypnotising array of florals, supported by a huge woody base filled with Australian sandalwood.
