Happy Father's Day to all the awesome dads and dad figures. Most of all, happy first Father's Day with Cillian, . We love you very much! Our little angel is a lucky boy to have you for his daddy! ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’™

Happy Father's Day also to Pa - Allen - Cilly can hold his head up now so he's looking forward to a cuddle today!

And let's never ever forget my beloved dad, Cillian's Pop, who's very very missed by this particular daddy's girl, especially now I have my own little cherub. He may not be here with us, but his genes are very much evident in my boy's little chubby face! ๐Ÿฅน

Slight change of theme today folks...

and I are absolutely overjoyed to share that our beautiful boy, Cillian Allan Brealey-Attridge, (pronounced with a hard "C", as in cute or cat) finally made his entrance into the world on 15 May 2025, at 1500hrs sharp!

Named for his Pop. Pa and Daddy, he weighed in at 3.46kg (7lb10oz) and 51cm long, and came with a surprise mop of dark hair; he could not be cuter! ๐Ÿ˜

He's already made his IBS dietitian mother very proud of his excellent pooping skills! With an appetite he inherited from his father and a strong set of lungs, definitely from his mama; he's our teeny little firecracker with a vice-like grip, and we are so in love with him. ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ’–

Huge thanks to Dr Glenn Sterling & the team at for helping us to make a dream come true.
Thanks also to Dr Jamie Friebe and the wonderful midwives, especially Kate & Vanessa, for helping his mama to remain calm and helping him arrive safely.

Now we're heading back to our baby love bubble! ๐Ÿฉต๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’š

I saw an article from the ABC recently that said between 2016 and 2022 that the number of women that competed in amateur weightlifting increased by 5 times that of previous years.

As opposed to men who increased by 3 times the rate.

The reason the article stated was from a few things:

๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ The introduction of cross fit as a workout routine sparked more womens love for weights

๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ The increase in social media content showcasing strong women lifting weights just like the blokes can

๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ More education around why weights are important for your physical and mental health as a woman

I personally love seeing what was a male dominated area of the gym be smattered with the ladies giving it a go and loving it, and focusing on building muscle over losing weight ๐Ÿ’ช

Because as you know I LOVE lifting weights.

What about you ladies, have you been getting more into weights lately? Do you feel that these findings are accurate for you too?

Nothing against Kombucha, itโ€™s pretty damned tasty actually, but healing and balancing your gut is about more than that.

Your gut bacteria are influenced by what you eat. So it is important to give them the right fuel to have a balanced gut microbiome with a balanced, wholistic approach.

The best way to maintain a healthy microbiome is to eat a range of fresh, wholefoods, mainly from plant sources like fruits, vegetables, legumes, beans, nuts and wholegrains.

Also having healthy sleep habits and managing stress levels are other ways to support your gut health too.

Itโ€™s a come at it at all the angles type thing rather than just listening to the latest gut health fad the influencers are promoting on Instagram.

So the weather is cooling down, which for many parts of our sunburnt country is a relief, it was a WARM summer hey?

But for alot of people that means that their fluid intake can take a hit.

So remember to stay hydrated! ๐Ÿ’ฆ Here are some tips:

โžก๏ธ Set a reminder on your phone to have a glass of H2O

โžก๏ธ Buy a drink bottle with your water goals in mind so you know how you are going through out the day

โžก๏ธ Consume fluid rich foods because not all hydration comes from what you drink

Hows your fluid intake going in the cooler weather?

The year is "hopping" along so fast, I can't believe it's almost Easter! ๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿซ

This is a friendly reminder that life is too short to feel guilty over enjoying chocolate!

๐Ÿซ If you love an Easter egg hunt with the kids (big or small!); then go make memories with them!

๐Ÿซ If you love a hot cross bun and a cuppa, savour the moment.

๐Ÿซ Or, if you have a favourite Easter treat that you can ONLY get this time of year, then give yourself permission to eat it.

Embrace the connection, joy and FUN this time of year brings. Savour delicious treats while nourishing your body and mind so you can make lifelong memories.

Remember, years from now, no one will remember what you ate, they'll remember the way they FELT.

I'd love for you to share YOUR favourite Easter memory below!

If you are working on improving your nutrition then it can be easy to think TOO far in advance.

Set goals TOO far in the future.

But the reality is that today is the only day you really need to worry about. What happened in the past is unchangeable, and tomorrow isnโ€™t here yet.

Yes, you can influence tomorrow by what you do today, but letting it control your narrative now wonโ€™t help.

So focus on today, one step at a time, one meal or snack at a time.

And let the future take care of itself knowing you are doing what you need today to make it your best.

The internet will tell you that the list on the left is what nutrition is all about.
People who look the part talking up the latest blend of powder on TikTok or Insta, giving you a LONG list of why it will make everything in your entire life better can be REALLY convincing.

But buyer beware, what you see on social media isn't always accurate. (I'm aware of the irony here!)

That's why, when it comes to nutrition info, I always encourage you to check the source! If the person telling you the method that "worked for them" doesn't also have the education behind them, then take the advice with the proverbial grain of salt.. and if in doubt, ask an Accredited Practising Dietitian, Registered Dietitian, Accredited Sports Dietitian, or uni qualified nutritionist!

Donโ€™t rely on Google ChatGPT or social media feed to accurately answer your nutrition questions.

Confused about how to spot dodgy information online? Hit me up, I'm always here for helping you wade through the sea of misinformation! ๐ŸŒŠ

Aahh Hawaii.. one of my absolute favourite places on earth, and also one of the trickiest places to eat well.

Not surprising that tiny islands in the middle of the Pacific, with a very different food system have less access to quality foods than I'm used to!

I don't shy away from what's on the local menu, but I do make a point of starting each day with a nourishing breakfast (served with a delicious Kona coffee!) so that I know I'm going to start my day well nourished, and raring for adventure!

So here it is, evidence that I walk my talk! Just prepped overnight oats with kefir, PB and frozen berries for tomorrow's brekkie for 2... More satisfying and FAR cheaper than eating out every morning!

Ai maikaสปi a สปono ๐Ÿ‘‰ good and tasty food!

Aloha! ๐ŸŒบ๐ŸŒด

The goal is to eat with purpose โœ…

Be intentional about what you are consuming, why you are consuming it and how it makes you feel.

There is nothing wrong with eating ice cream if thatโ€™s your fave after dinner snack, in fact I encourage you do that, but what we donโ€™t want is mindless eating because thatโ€™s where you can eat more than you would have liked to...

And I'm not talking about extra calories, thatโ€™s the least of my concern. Think about the other consequences of eating "too much" of a particular food on your body and mind...

โ“ Will you struggle to concentrate or think clearly because you haven't given your body sustained energy?

โ“ Will you feel uncomfortably full, and "bleh" for the rest of the day?

โ“๏ธWill it result in bloating, discomfort or have negative effects on your ๐Ÿ’ฉ schedule?!

โ“ Will your sleep be affected, resulting in a rough day the next day because you're tired (and grumpy!)?

When you eat with purpose, you can eat the things you love WITHOUT the food hangover from over indulging.

Removing food is not the aim ๐Ÿ™…๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

What we want to do is find the gaps in nutrition to fill and go from there.

For example, you might be preparing for a competition and need increase your protein so we will look for the gaps in your nutrition plan where we can add in more protein.

This might mean making some simple switches to what you are currently consuming to support this.

Or adding in extra snacks during the day or after you train.

So that you can perform at your best on the day and every day for that matter.
