I’m 53. And today I didn’t train.
I’ve been fighting off sickness and my body told me to rest. So I listened.
But here’s what didn’t change — my food.
This is one of the biggest mindset shifts I see in the women I work with. The idea that if you didn’t train, you don’t deserve to eat the same way. That rest days mean restriction.
It’s not true. And it’s actually working against you.
Your body still needs protein to recover. It still needs fuel to fight off illness. Eating less on rest days doesn’t make you leaner — it makes you more depleted.
So today I’m sharing exactly what I ate as a 53-year-old nutritionist on a sick, rest day. Same protein target. Same nourishing meals. Zero guilt.
This is what looking after yourself actually looks like. 🙏

I’m 53. And I genuinely love my life.
Not in a “everything is perfect” way. In a “I did the work to figure out who I am and what makes me feel good” way.
Snowboarding at 53. Strong enough. Fit enough. Confident enough. Not despite my age, because of everything I’ve done to show up for myself in midlife.
If you’re not waking up loving your life right now, I want you to know that’s not just how it has to be. I’ve been on that journey too. Building the energy, the body, the mindset that means I actually want to get out of bed.
It didn’t happen by accident. It happened through the way I eat, move, and take care of myself — and it’s the exact blueprint I take my clients through.
This is what 53 looks like when you stop waiting and start showing up for yourself. 🔥

You wanted my immunity shot recipe, I’ve been having these every day as a boost in winter. Here is the exact recipe to level up your morning routine:
🌱 2-3 Stalks Celery (Hydration base)
🍊 1 Large Orange (Keep the white pith for bioflavonoids!) I add a lemon 🍋 too
🪵 2-inch k**b of Fresh Ginger (Digestion + insulin sensitivity)
✨ 2-inch k**b of Fresh Turmeric (The ultimate anti-inflammatory)
🌶️ 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
🫒 1 tsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil

METHOD:
Scrub your roots (don’t peel them!), run everything through the juicer, then whisk in your pepper and oil. Drink it immediately. I store in the fridge for the next few days.

Remembering that if you have body composition goals whether it’s losing fat or building muscle 80% of your success comes from your nutrition. It’s important to get it right.
