Iโ€™m Joanie and one of the admins here.

When my daughter was diagnosed with aphasia after a stroke, I didnโ€™t know what it was.

I thought sheโ€™d be fine by Christmas!

I wasnโ€™t alone, the vast majority of people have no idea what aphasia is.

This campaign really wants to change that and create a HUGE worldwide drive that we can all support.

Have you donated yet? (WE HAVE). We are in the UK and you can donate from any country.

This is my daughter Sarah, with the actress Juliet Stevenson who was in a play, playing someone with aphasia!

Why does this page exist?

If we raise another 26,000 Australian Dollars by end end of June (equivalent to approximately ยฃ13,747 and $18,335 USD), The Tavistock Trust for Aphasia will double our overall target of 72,958 AUD.

This means that your donations, however large or small, are vital to enable us to move forward with our campaign.

P.S. Itโ€™s also GREAT to meet everyone and hear your stories!

Celebrating what we have accomplished with this page in just 2 months.

โœ… A dream team of admins in Claire Bennington, Emma & Kim Beesley, Joanie Scott & Carly Davey and I (Linda Worrall).
โœ… 937 Facebook followers, 137 Instagram followers
โœ… $47,000 (64%) of our target raised by 239 supporters

We have such big plans. This page is just of the many strategies.

Imagine what we can do for Aphasia Awareness month in June, 2027.

Thank you to everyone for all your efforts so far.
