Boring but important updates 📢‼️
WEDNESDAY CLOSURE 🚫
As some people have pointed out, at times we are having difficulty keeping the shop stocked. We would love the bakery to be full to the bream every weekend with an abundance of choices for everyone, and we certainly don’t want anyone to feel disappointed when they visit. At the same time, we refuse to compromise on the high quality you’ve hopefully come to expect from our food. We don’t cut corners, reduce sizes, or stretch our recipes to bulk up our stock, and we never will. We always have and always will put quality above quantity. Unfortunately, that takes time.
So, starting from next Wednesday 15th July, we will be trialling Wednesday closures to see what kind of impact this has on production and workflow and if it’s worth an extra day’s closure. If you already have an order placed for the 15th, your order will still be fulfilled :)
CHANGE OF LEAD TIMES FOR PREORDERS 🛒
When setting up the website we chose adaptive lead times so that you can collect your order as soon as possible based on what you’re ordering. Some things only need one day’s notice, others need 3 days, others need a week. So when adding items to your cart the website will tell you if your choices aren’t compatible with your selected date, and automatically calculate the earliest possible collection. Unfortunately this doesn’t seem to be working as we hoped, and we have received lots of feedback that the system is confusing and orders have accidentally been placed for the wrong dates.
To keep things simple, we’ve changed the lead times to be consistent across all items:
Bread & bun (excluding sourdough)- Order by 5pm the day prior
Sourdough and all other items- one week’s notice
FACEBOOK MESSAGES 📥
Now that orders are handled via the website, we’re no longer able to monitor the messages on Facebook as closely as we have in the past. We usually will only get to answer everyone on a Monday or Tuesday when the shop is closed. Please keep this in mind if you’re needing a faster response or wondering if we have received your message- we haven’t forgotten about you and will get back to you as soon as we can :)
