At just 35, Ella Brukarz never expected a small lump in her neck would lead to a diagnosis of Stage 2A Hodgkin lymphoma.
After initially being reassured it was nothing serious, Ella trusted her instincts when the lump grew and sought a second opinion, a decision she credits with saving her life.

Through chemotherapy, fertility challenges, and the emotional toll of cancer, Ella leaned on the support of her partner, family, and Lymphoma Australia.

Her story is a powerful reminder to listen to your body, ask questions, and advocate for your health because early action can make all the difference đź’š

Having lymphoma is likely to impact your study, whether it be at school, university or other work-related studies. This impact can also affect you if you are a parent or carer of someone with lymphoma.

You may need to take time off or change your study plans. Some people choose to continue their study while undergoing treatment, or caring for someone with lymphoma as it can provide something to work towards and focus on. Others may find that continuing study provides unnecessary pressure and stress, and choose to
defer their studies or take time off school.

You can speak with your school or university and discuss what support options are
available. For more information and tips visit: https://tinyurl.com/4xwmz6me

💚 Legs Out for Lymphoma, that’s a wrap!

What an incredible month of our community coming together to raise awareness, share stories, move their bodies and support Australians affected by lymphoma.

From walks, runs and workouts to donations, shares and messages of support, thank you. Every action made a difference.

Movement looks different for everyone, but staying active can support both physical and mental wellbeing for patients, survivors and supporters alike.

This campaign may be over, but the impact continues. We’d love you to stay connected and keep being part of our Lymphoma Australia community.

🎉 Congratulations to El, our top individual fundraiser!

Thank you for being part of something truly special đź’š

When someone hears the words “you have lymphoma,” their world can change in an instant.

For Natasha, that moment came just weeks after giving birth to her baby. What should have been a joyful and exhausting season of new motherhood suddenly became filled with fear, hospital appointments, and uncertainty.

That’s where our Specialist Lymphoma Care Nurses step in.

They help patients and families navigate the shock of diagnosis, understand treatment options, and feel less alone during some of the hardest moments of their lives.

This EOFY, your donation can help ensure no one faces lymphoma without support.

Good sleep is needed to help our bodies grow, repair and replace
old cells. It can help decrease inflammation, control weight, consolidate memories, retain new information, protect our mental and emotional health, regain energy… the benefits go on and on!

Sleep issues are common in people with lymphoma. There are many possible reasons for sleep changes, and managing the underlying cause such as anxiety, pain, nausea or medication (such as steroids) can be effective at improving your
sleep.

Our bodies need to produce hormones such as melatonin and serotonin for effective sleep. Simple changes like having a regular routine to help your body learn when it should sleep can improve production of melatonin. Adding foods high in tryptophan and serotonin (such as eggs, cheese, nuts or rice) can improve serotonin production.
