Meet Kelly! 💙

Kelly is one of our experienced Support Coordinators here at Starfish Support, and she brings a wealth of knowledge and a whole lot of heart to everything she does.

With many years working alongside people with disabilities, Kelly has a deep understanding of what it takes to help participants navigate their supports and work toward the life they want. She is known for her outgoing, approachable nature and her ability to build strong, trusting relationships with participants, families and service providers alike.

What drives Kelly is simple: advocating for her clients and making sure they have access to the right supports to live full, meaningful lives.

We are so glad to have Kelly on the team. 💙

After weeks of wet weather, the flowers were absolutely thriving. So our participant Anne and her Support Worker Oum did something wonderful with them. They gathered them up and Anne made her very own floral garland, by hand.

The smile says it all.

We're Hiring! 💙

Starfish Support is looking for a dedicated and experienced Support Worker to join our team in the Redlands area.

This role involves supporting a young female participant with daily living and personal care, so we are looking for someone who is confident, attentive and genuinely passionate about making a difference.

Availability required:
• Tuesday 7:00am to 11:30am and 3:00pm to 5:00pm
• Wednesday 7:00am to 9:00am and 3:00pm to 5:00pm
• Additional shifts may be required

You will need:
• Cert III in Individual Support (completed)
• Experience implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans and managing behaviours of concern
• Confidence providing personal care including showering and toileting
• A minimum of 12 months industry experience (preferred)
• An outgoing, engaging personality with the ability to support a young person in developing meaningful daily routines

Meet Kiola! 💙

Kiola has a genuine passion for the people he supports, and it shows in everything he does. He brings a warm, respectful approach to his work, always making sure participants feel valued, heard and supported in their everyday lives.

Kiola is all about building real connections and creating an environment where people feel comfortable to grow at their own pace. He's eager to learn, enthusiastic about the work, and brings a positive energy that's hard to miss.

When he's not working, you'll find Kiola at the gym, playing guitar, or settling in for a good anime or movie. We're really glad to have him on the team. 💙

Megan had a big day out recently, and she did it her way. 🛍🍜

From handling her own purchase at the shops to making a bowl of Pad Thai, Megan showed up and gave it a go!

The smiles and laughter throughout the day? That was just the icing on the cake.

A Gold Coast Aqua Duck adventure, a captain's hat, and a view of the water. Sometimes a day out is exactly what it sounds like. Pure, simple joy.

This is what community access looks like at Starfish Support. Getting out, trying new things, and making memories that stick.

We love seeing Aaron out in the world doing what makes him happy. 💙

Starfish Support was proud to be represented at last Thursday's Redlands Health & Care Workforce Symposium, where Starfish Leadership Team member Marianne joined a panel of local leaders to share real insights into career change, transferable skills, and what it means to work in your local community.

The Symposium brought together approximately 80 leaders from across the Redlands health, aged care, disability and workforce sectors, all focused on practical, employer-led solutions to the region's workforce challenges.

As a locally owned and operated disability services provider, we know first-hand how much this region has to offer, both to the people we support and to the people who choose to work here. We're excited to see the outcomes of the RJC Health & Care Working Group over the coming months and proud to play our part in building a stronger local workforce. 🌟

Thank you to the Redlands Coast Chamber of Commerce and the Redlands Regional Jobs Committee for a genuinely valuable day.

Meet Chris!

Chris brings a wealth of experience to the Starfish Support team, having previously worked as a Mental Health Support Worker, where he supported clients with complex needs across daily living, transport and community participation. He also worked closely with families, carers and multidisciplinary teams to make sure every person in his care was supported as a whole.

Chris has a natural ability to build trust, navigate challenging situations and advocate for the people he supports – and that shows in everything he does.

When he's not working, you'll find Chris deep in a board game, catching a film at the cinema, following his favourite sports or pottering around the family home with his pet birds for company.

We're so glad to have Chris on the team. 💙

Today is International Nurses Day, and we want to take a moment to say thank you.

The people we support are surrounded by some truly incredible humans – and nurses are right there among them. Whether it's a community health visit, a specialist appointment, or simply someone who takes the time to listen, that care makes a real difference in people's lives.

At Starfish Support, we're grateful to be part of a wider community of people who genuinely care. Today we're celebrating the nurses who show up with skill, compassion and heart – every single day. 🩺💙
