If the gym feels intimidating, I promise I get it. ❤️ When I first started training with my coach LEANNE | Women's 30+ Health Coach 2.5 years ago, I was SO intimidated by the idea of going to a gym that I trained exclusively at home. I was using the equipment we had left over from COVID times, plus a few extra pieces I bought to make my little home setup work.
Eventually, I outgrew my home gym and started training at Powerhouse Gym Elite. And honestly? I was still SO anxious about being there that I would only go if Rhys Miller was coming with me.
Fast forward to now and I genuinely love going to the gym.
I say hi to the people I see regularly, catch up with the amazing staff, know where everything is, know what I’m doing and the whole place genuinely feels like a second home.
Which is why I wanted to make this reel.
Because I know how easy it is to look at someone who seems completely comfortable in the gym and think, “I could never be that confident.”
But you don’t see the beginning.
You don’t see the nervous first sessions, the awkward equipment adjustments, the Googling exercises beforehand, or the times I needed someone with me just to feel comfortable enough to walk through the door.
Confidence didn’t come first.
I kept showing up, and the confidence came later.
So if you’re feeling intimidated by the gym right now, please don’t let that convince you that you don’t belong there.
You absolutely do.
Lifting weights is SO important for women over 35 & if you JUST make a start, one day, you might just realise you’re the person who walks in, puts your headphones on, says hello to everyone and feels completely at home. 🫶🏼
