WELCOME TO BODY IN BALANCE NATURAL THERAPIES. ARE YOU LOOKING FOR PAIN RELIEF?

I have 20 years experience working with people who suffer from musculoskeletal pain. I am continually updating my training and offer you only the best and mo

st effective gentle treatment combinations, specifically tailored to your needs, to provide fast relief from pain. The secret to my success lies in a combination of quickly and gently correcting pelvic and upper body imbalances/alignment using Finch Therapy. This is a new revolutionary technique of activating muscles that in turn creates a chain reaction through the connective tissue of your body to release and relax tight muscles and joints. I then use my extensive knowledge of Remedial Bowen Therapy, Remedial Massage and exceptional tissue tension sense to release and relax any of your muscles and joints that still need attention.

You will receive advice on home maintenance so your terrific results can be maintained by you at home. Back, knee, shoulder neck, hip, bottom, leg and forearm pain are all examples of conditions that I have treated successfully. As a general rule of thumb your treatment plan would consist of three treatments one week apart with the expectation for many conditions that are solely of muscular origin to improve after just one to two sessions.

THE MANY LAYERS OF QIGONG

I have been diving deep into the theory and philosophy of Qigong over the past few weeks and found myself waking up at 5am this morning in awe of how much we really are working on with what at first may seem like such a simple practice and just had to share:

Qigong looks gentle from the outside, but beneath the slow movements, something much deeper is happening.

It works on body, breath, mind and energy — all at the same time.

✨ THE BODY

Qigong uses whole-body, functional movements rather than isolating individual muscles. The movements can help soften and release the large muscles we tend to overuse, while gently strengthening the smaller muscles that support our posture and stability.

The flowing movements also encourage the fascia, the connective tissue that wraps through our whole body to move, stretch and glide more freely.

As we move, breathe and gently compress and release different areas of the body, we also encourage circulation and lymphatic flow, helping the body move fluid, nutrients and waste more efficiently.

✨ THE BREATH

Qigong brings the breath deeper into the body.

Expanding and moving the rib cage encourages movement through the diaphragm and creates gentle changes in pressure throughout the torso — almost like an internal massage for the organs.

Slow, coordinated breathing also gives the nervous system the message that it is safe to slow down, settle and shift out of constant “doing” mode.

✨ THE MIND

One of the most beautiful aspects of Qigong is that it brings the mind out of the head and back into the body. Instead of being caught up in the endless stream of thoughts, we begin to notice our feet, our hands, our breath and the movement within the body.
This can quieten mental chatter, improve awareness and help us feel more present, focused and grounded.

✨ THE ENERGY

And then there is the layer that makes Qigong different from ordinary exercise. We are working with our internal energy, building that energy, our life force, balancing the 5 elements , and creating more flow and less blockages through the channels an in turn throughout our everyday life.

Through movement, breath, attention to our body and stillness, we practise creating a sense of balance and replenishing our internal reserves.

So a Qigong practice isn’t just stretching.

It’s not just exercise.

It’s not just breathing.

It’s not just meditation.

It's not just energy work.

It’s the integration of all of these things — moving the body, freeing the breath, settling the mind and cultivating our internal energy.

And perhaps that’s why, after a Qigong practice, you can feel more open, more grounded, more energised and more yourself.

If you would like to find out more send me a message to join our next 8 week block starting on 30th September or come along to one of our two taster classes at Flagstone Hub.
