I am hosting visiting Senior Contact Improv Dance (CI) teacher, Martin Hughes for a one-off workshop in Brisbane.

Martin is considered to be the most senior CI teacher in Australia.

He co-founded the Melbourne CI community 30 years ago.

Has trained with the co-founders of CI and some of the early pioneers including Steve Paxton, Nancy Stark Smith, Daniel Lepkoff, Nita Little, Karen Nelson, KJ Holmes, and Nina Martin.

Martin trained as a contemporary dancer and has taught contemporary dance at the Victorian College of the Arts for roughly 20 years.

He founded Cecil Street Studio, a centre for improvisation in Melbourne for 21 years and has co-led several Australian Contact Improvisation Convergences.

Martin continues to lead and inspire CI in Australia.

This is a unique opportunity to learn from a tuly inspirational CI teacher.

ZEN THAI SHIATSU 🌿

A bodywork system integrating Thai massage, Shiatsu and osteopathic techniques, with a focus on movement, touch and the body’s subtle energy systems.

In my practice, I draw from ZenThai Shiatsu alongside Japanese moxibustion, holistic pulsing and Reiki, working with the Daoist meridian system and Five Elements.

Sessions can also incorporate deep tissue work, mobilisation and structural techniques, depending on what your body needs.

1.5 hour session: $140
2 hour Deep Healing Session: $160
