I’m really proud to be offering counselling as part of The Patient Approach Cancer and Wellness Centre in Cleveland.
This centre is all about whole-person care, because cancer and chronic health conditions affect so much more than the medical side of life.
They can affect your mood, sleep, relationships, parenting, school, work, identity, confidence, energy and sense of control.
At The Patient Approach, I offer gentle, grounded counselling for children, teens, young adults, adults and families.
You might come to see me if you or someone you love is navigating:
• cancer or another significant diagnosis
• treatment, recovery or survivorship
• chronic illness or complex health challenges
• grief, fear, uncertainty or overwhelm
• burnout, compassion fatigue or carer stress
• changes in family roles or relationships
• a child or teen struggling with big feelings
• a young adult trying to cope with health, study, work or life pressure
One of the things I bring is a health-literate counselling approach.
Alongside my counselling work, I am also a Senior Lecturer in medical education and public health, teaching medical students and working across health, evidence, systems and care. I also bring my own lived experience of complex health challenges and cancer.
So when you sit with me, you do not have to explain the whole health world from scratch.
I understand that illness can change everything, and that people need support that is compassionate, practical and deeply human.
