Starvation mode doesn’t exist. Metabolic adaptations do occur...metabolic rate can go down to around 5 to 10% at most and then it appears to lessen when somebody is at maintenance for a period of time.

If you’re not losing weight you’re likely not in a caloric deficit. It doesn’t matter what the calculator said...you’re calculating incorrectly or getting in calories from someplace that you’re unaware of.

This doesn’t make you a bad person. This doesn’t make you a failure. It just means you’re taking in more calories than you’re output

Amen to this. I’m not a hormone specialist!!

I’m seeing a lot of ‘hormone specialists’ on social media lately, and it’s really starting to p**s me off.
That’s because of a couple things:
The vast majority of ‘hormone specialists’ or whatever they call themselves, are completely unqualified to be doling out advice to anyone.
Most of these people target women who suffer from real things like irregular periods, symptoms of perimenopause and menopause, and PCOS.
The whole ‘hormone specialist’ grift is getting so predatory, taking big money from desperate people looking for answers, and giving them absolute garbage in return.
A lot of these bullsh*tters don’t even understand hormones, and that’s easy to see from their posts.
Those posts would be funny, if they weren’t so scary.
In reality, very few people are actually ‘hormone specialists.’
Most dietitians aren’t.
Many doctors aren’t.
Naturopaths, nope.
Nutritionists, nope.
Trainers, nope.
Chiropractors, integrative practioners, nope.
And taking a class in ‘hormones,’ having hormones, or losing weight despite your hormones, doesn’t qualify you to talk to other people about their hormones. Or, to use the complexity of hormones to fool people into thinking you know what the f**k you’re talking about, when you actually don’t have a clue.
Stay. In. Your. Lane.
If you’re looking for a hormone specialist, please do your homework and find someone who is actually qualified.
