On Friday we celebrated the 19th Annual Corporate Rugby Tens Captains' Table Lunch🏉

The exclusive lunch brought together Brisbane leaders who helped raise more than $30k for young people with complex and permanent physical disabilities.

We were honoured to have been joined by Troy, the father of Youngcare Specialist Disability Accommodation resident Kade. Troy shared his family's personal experience in managing Kade's disability and why independence is so important for young people like his son who should be able to choose how they live their lives. ❤

We thank our MC for the event, and John Slater for choosing Youngcare as the benefactor for the lunch.

Mark's resilience is nothing short of extraordinary ❤

After military trauma, a life-changing spinal injury, and later being paralysed again following a severe seizure and diagnosis of Functional Neurological Disorder, Mark has faced challenges most of us can't imagine.

Today, he's thriving through para-sport including wheelchair racing, curling, archery; all while mentoring young athletes with disabilities.

A Youngcare Home Support Grant helped Mark move closer to the opportunities that keep him active, connected and focused on what he loves most.

Youngcare's Community Fundraising Coordinator, Ben, has been named a finalist in Westfield Helenvale’s 2026 Local Hero.

After a rugby accident left him paralysed, Ben turned his lived experience into a powerful platform for advocacy, raising awareness of the challenges many Australians with disabilities face every day.

Now Ben speaks at schools and organises community events to inspire young people who may find themselves in a similar position.
