It was a pleasure to showcase the impact that accessible, thoughtfully designed housing can have on the lives of young people with high physical support needs. Partnerships like this help us continue creating more opportunities for choice, independence and dignity for young Australians with disability.

This week, Institute CEO Kirsty Chessher-Brown and the team had the privilege of touring Youngcare’s newly opened development in Newmarket.

This beautiful, Hampton-style home is built to the highest physical support standards and will soon provide a welcoming, accessible sanctuary for three tenants just minutes from the Brisbane CBD.

Witnessing this incredible property firsthand was a powerful reminder of why our industry’s support matters. It gave our team the opportunity to see the tangible, life-changing impact of carefully considered, inclusive design, and to witness exactly what we are supporting, in our own small way, through our ongoing partnership.

We are incredibly proud to play a role in championing housing diversity and backing the Youngcare team as they bridge the gap for young Australians by creating housing solutions that offer young people with high physical support needs true independence and dignity.

Billy's Story 🚗

Billy’s life changed in an instant when a camping accident left him with a spinal cord injury. Through determination—and support from Youngcare’s At Home Care Grants—he regained his driver’s licence, independence and confidence. Today, Billy is back in the community, living life on his own terms.
