Easter is here which means chocolate eggs and bunnies, hot cross buns plus all the festive treats you love.
As a dietitian, I want to remind you that all foods can fit in a balanced, nourishing relationship with food. You don’t need to “earn” your chocolate or “make up for” that extra slice of carrot cake. Food is meant to be enjoyed, not feared.
Your worth isn’t measured by what you eat. It’s okay to celebrate, to savour and experience joy through food. Guilt doesn’t belong at the table this Easter (or any time of year)
Enjoy the chocolate bunny if you like them (ears first though!). You’re allowed to eat for pleasure and for nourishment. Both matter.
If you struggle with over consuming things like chocolate, be mindful while eating and pay attention to how your body feels and when you feel satisfied. It can also help to incorporate chocolate into a snack that includes some more filling whole foods.
If you’re ready to ditch the guilt and start building a peaceful relationship with food, I’d love to support you on your food freedom journey. Reach out or check the link in bio to work with me.
* If you have a specific medical condition that requires exclusion of certain foods please follow individualised medical advice.
