Diabetes is the fastest growing chronic health condition in Australia. 😮

It's a serious disease that can affect almost all of the body.

All types of diabetes mean that the body can’t keep glucose at a healthy level, but they happen in different ways.

And while you can't change some risk factors of diabetes (like family history), in some cases, particularly for Type 2 diabetes, lifestyle changes can reduce or delay a diabetes diagnosis.

Here are some ways to reduce your risk:
➡️ lose excess weight
➡️ do regular physical activity
➡️ maintain a healthy blood pressure
➡️ eat a balanced diet
➡️ quit smoking.

Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do to prevent Type 1 diabetes. However, early recognition of the 4T’s (Thirsty, Toilet, Tired, Thinner) can prevent life threatening complications related to the diagnosis. Recent technology advancements continue to improve quality of life and reduce the risk of complications for children and adults living with Type 1 diabetes.

In 2026, our goal is to achieve health through consistent, prioritize daily movement (walking/stretching), balanced nutrition, and quality sleep.
Focus on holistic well-being: Shift focus from appearance to mental health, happiess, and longevity.

Balance the plate: Aim for 50% vegetables and ruits, 25% protein (fish, lean meat, beans), and 25% whole grains (brown rice, wholemeal bread)

Hydration: Drink plenty of water and minimize sugary drinks.
