🤷♀️Why Can You Feel Sore After a Massage? 💆♀️
It’s a question we hear quite often.
After a massage, some people may experience mild soreness or tenderness for 24–48 hours. This can happen when tight or sensitive muscles are worked on, especially in areas that have been carrying tension for a long time.
Massage can also increase blood flow and place temporary stress on tissues that haven’t been moved or treated regularly, which may result in a mild “post-treatment” soreness similar to how muscles can feel after exercise.
However, there is an important difference between mild soreness and excessive pain.
❌ More pressure does not always mean better results.
A common misconception is that the stronger the massage, the more effective it is. In reality, overly aggressive pressure can sometimes cause unnecessary discomfort and make muscles tense up even more.
✅ The most effective pressure is one that is appropriate for your body, your condition, and your comfort level.
Communication with your therapist is always important. If the pressure feels too strong or too uncomfortable, let us know during the treatment.
👣 A good massage should help you feel better, not leave you suffering.
